Culpepper Pals: Summer 2: McMullen

Summer's arriving for the Culpeppers! I'm currently still playing this season, maybe I'll finally catch up to where I am in game!

Last time, Jo decided she wanted to try dating again. She ended up with a pretty big crush on Mackenzie Yee, and the two of them went to dinner, where they really hit it off. After sneaking a first kiss in Windenburg, Jo was a little concerned as Mackenzie left immediately afterwards. Everything was fine, and the pair continued to date. Mackenzie ended up moving in with Jo. There was also some partying, which is always expected of Jo :)

Summer begins with Jo and Mackenzie being blissfully happy.




And their cat, Snickers, isn't ill upon arrival! I can't remember the last time I arrived on the lot to find Snickers all good and well!




Look how cute she is!




With things all fine and dandy at home, Jo heads downstairs to check out the flea market. I think Kirby invited her out, but I didn't see her while Jo was down there.

Also, I love that you can spot the kids out and about - Shari heading to a scout meeting, and Oli just chilling on the monkey bars. And Adora, sitting on a bench on the far right. I just really like seeing my sims going about their business, I guess!




Candy was out busking, so Jo decided to drop her some change. Everyone is being really nice to Candy at the moment.




The only goal of the flea market hang out was to haggle.

It didn't go well, Jo had to pay full price.




Mackenzie played basketball by herself the entire time Jo was at the flea market.




Finally found where Kirby was hiding - nowhere to be found at the flea market, because she's in the flat keeping Snickers company.

Which is totally fine <3




Disappointed at the lack of bargains, Jo decides to give the bubbles a go. Adora didn't join in, but she did keep Jo company as she struggled with the bubble blower.




Adora left once Jo started napping, though.

Will my sims ever stop sleeping in public? I doubt it.




Looks like Snickers just delayed her illness/injury until after the flea market. Time for the seasonal trip to the vets!




That's the vet taking a shower in the rain.

Jo is very unimpressed.




One expensive treatment later - only the best for Jo's cat - and she's on her way back to the city.

Spotting Akira with a blue raccoon on the way. Hopefully that is cured before I load their lot later this season.






First evening of summer and it's time for a dance party.

Jo's in the final stage of her aspiration, which involves attending an awful lot of parties. I think it's going to take a few rotations to complete it.






As day turned into night, the party shifted from DJ to bonfire.

I often forget there's a bonfire round that little corner, and it seems like the perfect season to use it.




"Check this out!"

One of the bonuses of using the bonfire instead of the DJ is fire dancing, which I rarely see in my game.




So all in all, a good night.




Although maybe a bit long for some sims.

I'm with them on this, I don't think I'd be up for dancing all night.




Another normal morning in the McMullen-Yee household.




Unfortunately for me, Jo and Mackenzie were at work all day, leaving me without much to do or look at.




Work all day, party all night!

All the usual guests attended, and yet not much happened. This is the only screenshot I apparently took, everyone catching up and eating noodles. Which honestly sounds like a good night.




The following day Mackenzie is working but Jo is off, so it's time to check out the new lido that popped up in Newcrest.

I found it on the gallery. I really should write down whose lots I'm using, I just forget.






Jo's not spending the day alone! Her friends are all meeting her there.

And apparently everyone cycles now. Please note that the only sim I've actually bought a bike for is Kirby, and that was just because I was on her household when I installed the pack.




It's so nice to see them all together <3

Apart from Kirby, I'm really not sure why she didn't show up.






Jo being Jo decided to impress the group with a dive.

If they're not impressed, I definitely am! Jo's not very athletic, I didn't expect the dive to end well.




Nothing quite like swimming with your friends, is there?




I did notice that Venus was missing her tail though, that's a little worrying. Hopefully just a glitch.




I really love this shot, even if Dusty is impaling herself on the pool ladder. I also think it's pretty fun that the mermaid is the only one who stayed in the water and swimming around.




After a day at the pool, Jo planned an evening at the Bluffs.

The weather was not in her favour.




It was too wet for a DJ, and yet somehow not too wet for a bonfire.

At least that means there can be some dancing at this dance party.




Honestly thought Dusty was going to properly burn for a moment. I guess the rain put it out?




The rain then put the bonfire out.

This party is really going to plan.




Apparently you can group dance without any music at all, so at least there's that right?




The darker it gets, the worse the weather gets. It starts thundering and lightning.

Which means everyone is super tense, the perfect atmosphere for a dance party.




"Omg Paolo, are you okay??"

"I feel fine. What are you all staring at me for?"




The party finally comes to an end, and no one can wait to get home.

A bit of a bust, really.




Another day of work. Have I mentioned Mackenzie's career yet?

She's in the Gardening career, working as a Stem Researcher - level 6 of the Botanist branch of the career.






Mackenzie and Jo headed out to a bar together after a long day of work, when I got a pop up to say their cat was missing. Again.

They posted the alerts, but all they can do now is wait.




Luckily it was only a quick absence and Snickers reappeared when they got home from their night out.




"Our little family is complete again."

They're both super relieved to have Snickers home again, as am I. I wish I knew why she keeps running off, this is the second time now.




Another gorgeous summer day, another work day for both Mackenzie and Jo.

That's the only problem with this household, I spend quite a large portion of the rotation watching the world go by.




Snickers grew into an elderly cat that day, which I initially felt was too soon, but actually the more I think about it, Snickers has actually been around a while.

Jo and the other Culpeppers become elders in the winter, I think, which feels very soon! D:






It's a quiet afternoon for a change, no trips out or rushing around for once.

Of course there's a party planned for the evening, so it's probably a good idea to squeeze a nap in now.




Just another house party, with all the usuals present!

I can't remember how far off Jo's aspiration I am at the moment, but it feels like there will be a lot more partying next season.




Well that's terrifying, thanks for that Jo.




I get a ridiculous amount of joy from how crowded and busy the flat gets.




And with that, another party, and another season, is over for the McMullens! And for once, I'm not ahead, so I have no idea what autumn holds in store for these two!
