No Carpet, No Floodwater, but Internet!
Dec. 6th, 2013 06:34 pmWe've moved in! We have internet! We don't have carpet yet, that happens next week, so we're still living out of boxes and things at the minute. But progress is still progress!
Last night, half of my town was covered in seawater, thanks to a tidal surge. Me and my family are all okay, we were on the very edge of the flood risk area. If the storm drains had gone, then we'd have suffered. Luckily, we were alright. There's two bridges in my town, and both were flooded and useless, so were the shopping areas, the cinema, several pubs, several small businesses, a fair few homes, and the car dealership and supermarket down the road from me.
It made travel today impossible, and it took me well over an hour to get to class - only to discover my teacher couldn't get in because her route was flooded by a burst dam. So yeah, it was a bit chaotic.
High tide tonight will probably flood the really high risk areas tonight, but mostly we should be okay.
So while we were internet-less and bored and not underwater, I watched the entire second season of Once Upon a Time (I love it!) and I played a lot of sims. Not Sims 2, because I kept getting bored and frustrated with it. I played a lot of TS3 instead. So I thought I'd show you some of my sims:
