Pitts: Not How I Imagined It
Hello there!
I had three days off work last week, and so I put the time to "good" use, and played some more of my wonderful Sim State graduates! With working getting busier as the summer arrives - I work on a holiday camp - I'm hoping to play ahead a few updates so I can share them when I don't have time to play. Woo, forethought!
Anyway, this is a VERY short entry. Ashley and Heather like to keep their antics short and sweet, it seems. I also felt like trying out a different tone/atmosphere with the writing, so let me know how that works out.
Enjoy!

Heather's first day in the apartment Ashley had picked for them both was a productive one. An opening in the Music career was waiting for her, just as she'd planned.
Ashley, however, was nowhere to be seen.

The cramped apartment block, in the business district of Peach Bay, had many communal areas where neighbours liked to hang out, and this was Heather's first choice in her search for Ashley.
"He's usually up here, or on the roof, fighting with Callista," the neighbours said, "He's really friendly,"
Heather decided to leave it. She was Ashley's roommate, not his mother - it wasn't up to her to keep tabs on him, or worry about what he was getting up to.
Still, it would have been nice if he'd bothered to welcome her to the apartment.

He showed up late, and only because he was hungry, which suited Heather just fine. She'd found she quite liked having her own space, after the chaos of sharing the Greek House with three girls - and most of campus, it seemed sometimes.
Ashley didn't really notice Heather's slight coldness towards him. He was too busy furiously reminiscing about a fight he'd lost on the roof earlier that day.

He was on a different schedule to Heather completely - she had work in the morning, had to go to bed early. Ashley had nothing to do all day, and so he spent all night on the roof, with the girls and the keg.

Still, different schedules didn't mean things couldn't work out.
Right?

As the days passed, Heather found herself studying harder than she did at university - she was going to be the best at her job, no matter what it took to get her there.
Of course, the extra study meant she'd stopped noticing Ashley's absences, and stopped caring when he was home.

"Hey, did you want to go to dinner tonight?" He asked her, once, "A new restaurant just opened up in town,"
"I can't," She'd told him, "After this, I'm going to take a bath and head to bed. Feel free to go on without me, though,"
Ashley frowned - they were both young and enjoyed a good time, surely they should be enjoying the clubs and bars, rather than spending every night in like an ageing couple?

Truthfully, Heather tried not to think about it. Life after graduation was far from what she'd expected - travelling the world, going out, and just generally enjoying herself. She enjoyed working, but that seemed to be the only thing she had going on in her life.
Even Ashley wasn't there for her as much as he once was.

Ashley also didn't like to pull his weight around the apartment. Heather had known that the fraternity was always a tip, but had assumed living with Ashley wouldn't be quite so bad. Heather had never been particularly domestic herself - that was what maids were for - but having to stand on her own two feet was proving rather tiresome.

"You haven't paid your half of the rent, Ash," Heather told him, the day after the bills came in.
"I'm not working, you know that," He shrugged, "I don't have the cash this week..."
"I'll cover it, but you'll have to pay me back," Heather replied, "I'm saving for a trip to Twikkii, and every penny counts,"
"Thanks, babe," Ashley grinned, and promptly set the bill to the back of his mind. Work was not something he was eager to get into right away, so as long as Heather was bringing in the cash, he could afford to relax a little.

Even if she'd started bringing guys home with her from work. Surely they were just colleagues...
Either way, it was the price he was going to have to pay if he wanted to keep the apartment.
-----------------------
Told you it was short!
Ashley's money troubles are not only based on the fact that he is unemployed, but also the fact that the apartment's mail box is glitched - and no one can pay their bills. It was a neat little idea that sprung to mind.
Well, I hope you enjoyed it, despite its shortness, and I'll see you next time for the Upsnott/Swain household.
