Baffling Genetics

beanstalk_simsI extracted Eira, generation three cousin of my ISBI, and took a peek at her grown-up genetics. Because while I was convinced she was the gorilla-template, she didn't look like the teenage version of that template.
Take a look:
Eira is on the left, the "gorilla template" on the right. See what I mean?
What really confuses me is that Eira was adopted as a baby, and sims in the adoption pool usually have template faces. I hadn't played the 'hood before, so no babies had been taken away. Which has left me really confused.
I played around in CAS, but cannot find a template that matches her jaw & mouth.
How on earth did this happen?!
