As I mentioned in a previous post, I've started a prosperity as part of my new years resolutions - and to give me something *just* to play. No plots or staging or whatever. So expect speech bubbles and possibly plumbbobs and the action queue - I screen-cap, and this isn't my legacy, so I didn't feel the need to set up every picture so it looks just right. Screen-capping literally just makes it easier for me to sort through the pictures later on.

For now, no one is going to university. I don't really like playing it much, but who knows. Maybe I'll change my mind in a couple of generations!

Also, no one gets a job unless a) they have a work-related LTW or b) they roll the want to get a job, and then they can only accept that career path, no others.

Let's get started!

So the Cooper family consists of bad boy Richard, the romance sim who wants lots of lovers and woohoo every night of the week, and his two children, Emily and Dylan. If this was plotty, the story would be that they've moved in with their Dad after their mother died.

Richard met Lily Lagoon, one of the adult females from the other family in the 'hood, through the welcome wagon. Which I thought was neat, though I did expect more of the other family to be members of the welcome wagon.

ACR decided it liked these two together, thus screwing up my plans. If Richard and Lily get together and stay together, I think it might be a little awkward if I play matchmaker with their children.

Especially if they end up with a child together.

Unfortunately, the pair of them don't make great parents. Lily's Pleasure mainly, but part family sim, and neither of them really paid Dylan any attention until he was bawling.

Poor fella. He did get changed right after this picture was taken, though.

"Why is there is a Nanny over there?"

Well, you see...

Your father went out on a date.

I very rarely hire Nannies, not out of spite or anything, just because I rarely need them. There's usually someone about to stay home.

While Richard isn't loaded, he does have more money that Lily, so he sets about showing her what can be done with disposable income.

Also, Marissa Bendett is already lining up for her date with Richard.

"I can show you the world for that twenty pound note in your pocket!"

The Unsavory Charlatan is very good at choosing targets - I know Lily is broke!

It may have been nighttime on the date, but it's still the middle of the afternoon when they get home.

"Mr Cooper, you've only been gone two minutes,"

"..."

"I'll continue to watch the children, shall I?"

"My daughter has EXCELLENT taste in men! *swoon*!"

Pretty sure Jessie's only walking past to see if there's a chance of more grandbabies on the horizon.

She's almost right.

There might be babies here, one day...

With all of the excitement, the kids are kind of forgotten about, and poor Dylan ends up stinky and sleeping on the floor.

Richard's really not going to win any Best Dad awards.

He has other things on his mind.

And I'm also glad Lily only brought him a flower. If she gave him something massive like a tv or a stereo, I'd have to wonder where she'd stolen it from.

The next day, Richard decides to give parenting another shot, and doesn't do too badly.

I mean, the house is a tip, but at least the kids are getting some attention.

I consider Richard to be quite a young parent, to be honest. Still a little bit of a kid himself.

And of course, he sees nothing wrong with beating his daughter at rock, paper, scissors over and over again.

That night, Dylan's birthday rolls round. I must have forgotten to take pictures for a whole day or something.

Also, Dylan didn't learn any of his toddler skills, but he still didn't grow up with poor aspiration. Go Dylan!

Dylan's a lot different to his Dad, I think. Maybe it's just the fact he looks quite shy and thoughtful with his glasses on.

He grew up into those clothes, so he can keep them.

Eee, the romance strut!

I very rarely get to see it with my Wrongways, I very rarely get Romance sims for some reason.

And because there hasn't been another girl in Richard's life for three days, I decide to move Lily in.

Maybe they can be one of those couples that don't ever officially announce they're together, but everyone knows they are.

The arrival of Lily's son, Henry, turns the house very busy and family-friendly. All of a sudden, life isn't about romance and dating, and there are kids everywhere.

Seriously, Emily and Dylan bring friends home every single day.

Luckily, the boys get along, because they've got to share a room.

Also, does anyone know why there are planks of wood on the back of that maxis outfit Dylan's wearing? When I first started playing the game, I dubbed it the 'robin hood shirt' because it was green and there's a sword on it, but why planks of wood?

Richard and Lily are really living the Romance/Pleasure life now!

Nothing would ruin bathtime like someone unclogging the toilet at the same time.

Is this a simming myth, or does the appearance of that speech bubble indicate a borked 'hood?

It better not do, I only just got started!

More romance strutting!

Richard kept rolling wants for two loves at once, and more woohoo. He's probably a typical, unfaithful romance sim.

Camyrn Lee volunteers to be aspiration fodder. And they work together, too, so her friendship will probably equal more promotions.

And what's Lily doing while Richard flirts outside?

Well, she's cornered by their combined brood.

There's no getting in or out of that room until one of the boys moves.

And that marked the end of Autumn for the Coopers.

Well, the family portrait in the corner is out of date, as Lily and Henry have moved out, but the rest is just the same.

Lola and four elders...

Well, not a lot was going to happen, really. William and Rita - Lola's parents - took jobs because they rolled the want for it. They both work in the slacker career. Lola also took a job she wanted, as this rather poor family needs all the help it can get.

Jessie and Terry, Lily's parents, rolled nothing except wants for a family member to get engaged. Nice try, guys. Both Lily and Richard have fears of engagement.

"What a magnificent bluejay!"

Like I said, not much happens. William spent all morning outside with his binoculars.

Lola went to work, so Rita and Terry hung out with the toilet.

Jessie, however, was content to lounge on Lola's bed all afternoon.

By the time Lola got home from work, all four of the elders were in bed and fast asleep.

With nothing on the lot to do, Lola decided to head out for the evening.

Nothing like a thrilling night of pool with Ivy Copur!

Lola did attempt to meet some guys, though. Jace Surnameiforgot decided he wanted to dance with Lola, and give her a free sample of a flat screen tv - thanks Jace!

It was then that I noticed Goopy on the lot - what's not to love about Goopy?!

"No! Not just anyone gets to touch the Goopster!"

Unfortunately, Goopy was less impressed to see me and Lola as I was to see him. Shame, really.

Jace started winning Lola's affections, anyway.

Goopy looks slightly disappointed that refusing one hug meant he lost out completely.

Really? The Lagoons have £200 in the bank, and the Charlatan sees fit to steal from them AGAIN.

Thank God for the flatscreen in the inventory.

"I am a unicorn!"

I swear, this guy made the entire visit to the hangout worthwhile.

Back home, I promptly spent Jace's free sample on some house improvements.

Rita then informed me I should have spent the money on another bathroom.

I think Jace wins the award for most generous guy in Riverside!

Could've been better, but hey, it's something!

Thanks to Jace's donation, a second toilet was bought.

The Lagoons also got new wallpaper!

Just in time for William to impale himself on it!

Jace has helped the Lagoon family become richer than the Cooper family! And if that's not a sign that he's a keeper, then I don't know what is.

Plus he has a bolt with Lola. That's good, too.

Oh, okay.

These guys are moving faster than I expected. And in Lola's parent's bed, of all places, too.

"Ew, no! I don't want to live with you!"

Sure, woohoo is acceptable, sharing a house and a bed isn't.

"Don't mind me, kids, I'm just going to take a nap,"

Or, you know, wait and see if there's a wedding and babies coming up!

Lola and Jace fell in love and I sent them outside to get engaged.

The gazebo was just too pretty not to use. Nobody can say I'm not romantic ;)

Jace turns out to have black hair, and gets matched colour-wise to his partner.

I also matched the bedroom to them both.

Woohoo 5, and still no lullaby.

Sometimes, I think sims just like to mess with plans on purpose.

Downstairs, Terry and Jessie are being romantic.

Technically, this is their house, and yet it's going to stay in Jessie's sister's family. All because Lily chose to move out.

Weird how things change in the space of ONE season.

William and Rita are no where near as romantic as the other elderly couple.

I think it really highlights the differences between them - I decided when I first made them that William and Rita were fun-loving retired hippies, while Jessie and Terry worked hard.

"Good morning, Lola! Time to get up!"

"Go. Away."

I swear these people never stop smustling.

The Lagoons hired a gardener, and for some reason, he came into the house and started dancing, without working on the garden at all.

Someone needs to remind Leo what his job is.

The season ended with Lola bumping into pregnancy - about time!

And that's all for this update!

I hope it wasn't too awful :P
