Prosperity: Summer - The Cooper Household
Feb. 18th, 2014 06:25 pm
Brand New Season! The first summer for the families of Riverside, and it's quite a long one - five households and university! Blame all of the growing up and moving out that happens this rotation!
And I was showing some of the later households to my fourteen year old sister, who quite liked what she saw, so hopefully you'll enjoy these updates.
First up, the Coopers!

Are all romance sims as gooey over kids as Richard? Possibly. But with their new child, Alix, toddling around, Richard has definitely gone soft. Gone are the days when he rolled for multiple make-outs, woohoo in public and scoring with a maid.
Now he rolls for hobby-related things, but that's not the point.

The point is, it's time for Richard's first baby to flee the nest.
I'm so excited, Emily is finally old enough to contribute to the prosperity challenge. And by contribute, I am of course referring to the amount of kids she will inevitably have.

Emily felt a makeover was necessary - no more fringes and hair pins to keep everything neat and tidy! Emily is a strong independent woman about to make her way in the world, and of course, her look needs to match!
Gavin just went along with the matching colour scheme thing. I think it's adorable. We'll catch up with these two later - they are the fourth household in the rotation. They're also dirt poor and living in one of the rundown apartment buildings on the other side of the river, so that should be a lot of fun!

"Dylan, we're not much younger than Em, do you think we should be worried about settling down?"
Dylan shrugged, "I have a different plan. University."
"Get out!" Henry grinned, "Really? That's so cool!"
"You can come with me if you want."

"Nah," Henry decided, instantly, "Studying's not really my style."
"But there will be tons of uni girls for you to get to know!"
"I've got Nikki," Henry pointed out, "She wants to start our lives together as soon as possible."
"You'd be better off going to uni and getting some money and life experience behind you."

"Uni isn't for everyone, Dylan. You go and have a great time, I'll be fine back here with Nik."
"Mrrmmfffplll."
"Gross," Henry wrinkled his nose, "You won't attract any uni ladies if you eat like that."

Lily and Richard are quite possibly my favourite couple in Riverside. They're just so perfect together <3
"Richard, honey? Your mohawk is in my eye."

"Look at you, standing all by yourself! Are you ready for your birthday, Alix?"
"Alix big!"
"Yes, you'll be bigger! You'll be able to show your brothers who's boss!"

Alix is predictably gorgeous. And I absolutely adore her.
I decided, when Lily fell pregnant, that this child, the youngest of the combined Cooper-Lagoon brood, will inherit the house when they're old enough. Alix has pretty much got everything handed to her on a plate, just because it was easiest to have the youngest take it all.

One of the boys brought this guy home from school with them, and Alix has latched onto him. They are now best friends.
If the chemistry is there when these two get older...I'm so excited to see what happens here, now!

Further proof that Alix is cute.
Like you needed anymore proof.

The next day is the last day of Dylan and Henry's youth, so before Dylan applies for last minute scholarships - he became an overachiever at the last minute - and then disappears to college.
We'll see him at the very end of the summer rotation - two semesters is equal to one season. I have no idea how I worked that one out, but that's how I'm playing it.

Apparently, Henry got fat at some point. I don't know how I didn't notice before!
Anyway, he turned into quite the handsome fellow. Unlike Emily and Dylan, Henry DID have a father in CAS, and took some of his features from him - Henry's CAS father was a Meadow Thayer lookalike.

Nikki's invited over, aged up, and the couple are sent off on their way. They're slightly better off than Emily and Gavin, because there was a little more money in the bank for the entire family, but they're still pretty much poor.
They come fifth in the rotation.

The next day, Rhode Lagoon is invited over. And I just remembered she's Alix's second cousin or something - Riverside is a small town! I figured it would be good for the girls to be friends.
"Hey, Rhode! We should be BEST FRIENDS! Just like me and that guy in the puffy green vest!"
I'm hoping Alix is a popularity sim when she grows up. It would suit her so well.
"Why should I be your friend?"

"Because I'm AWESOME!" Alix insisted. Rhode laughed.
"I bet you're not awesome enough to beat me at tag!"
"I bet you I am!"

That's it for the Coopers - it's just Lily, Richard and Alix now! I'm worried it'll be dull, but who knows. Maybe it'll surprise me.
Hope you enjoyed it, join me next time for Jace Macarevich and the others!
