Procrastination
Dec. 6th, 2014 02:18 pmMy exams are next week, and I did really well in all of the practises, but I'm still sort of tied to my Clinical Psych textbook until Thursday. But it's a good idea to take study breaks, and so far all of mine have been with the sims. I've been trying to play the Wrongways, but I'm kind of suffering from game-envy at the minute, so I don't really feel like touching them.
Instead, I've been building. And while I'm not that good at it, and cannot build anything that will make you go "WOW!", I'm pretty pleased with my efforts. So I've put some picspam of two houses under the cut :)

I was building this late at night, and when I came back to it the next day, lots of things about it needed tweaking. I extended a few bits, altered the floor plan, stuff like that. Though now I'm looking at these pictures, I wish I'd recoloured the front door to match the rest of the doors & windows.
Also, I'm terrible at landscaping and making the house look like I haven't just plonked it down in a field. Something to improve on, I guess. Though it is the reason I stick to 3x3 lots - 4x4 is just too damn big!
Anyway, the floor plan:

The ground floor! There's a lot of space for chairs and things. I did originally have a nursery planned for top right, so I could probably do that when I actually play a family in the lot. I'm kind of inclined to believe this house would serve multiple generations, as I've put in multiple bedrooms.

The first floor! A bit tighter than the ground floor, but still pretty roomy. I messed around with that bedroom at the top multiple times - it used to be double that size.
The second floor is empty, because I mostly put it in for show. If I had sims who could teleport, then maybe I'd put a secret room up there just for them. There's also a basement, which is inaccessible, for things like the batbox. I learnt that trick from Orikes.
So overall, I'm kind of pleased with how this house turned out. Now I just need to find an excuse to use it.
I also built this one:

But I've only really done the exterior. I'm stilling humming and hahing over the layout inside. So these are the only pictures I have of it at the minute.
I'll finish with this: for those of you who use blue prints as inspiration, where do you find good ones? I've looked on google but nothing has jumped out at me yet.
