Playing for Fun!
Feb. 1st, 2015 04:11 pmSo I recently re-read the Tomato Legacy, which is pretty much played with what wants the sims roll. So, like, they only get married if they want to, only have babies if they want to (excluding the founder of course). And it seemed like a lot of fun, so naturally I had to give it a go myself.
Well, I've been playing it obsessively for about a week now. Exclusively - the Wrongways and the rest of my challenges don't get a look in. I'm currently have generation four in game at the moment, and I'm very excited about that. Considering it took me five years to get generation six in Wrongway, I'm over the moon.
I have been screencapping it as well, and writing updates, but I'm refusing to publish it at the moment, because I already have two legacies, and who's to say my obsession won't die within the next week. Originally I was going to start uploading it when generation five got pregnant with six, now I'm thinking I won't bother until six have graduated college. I keep pushing it back, because I don't want to start uploading it and then disappoint anyone (and myself) when I just stop.
But I figured you guys might like a little peek at what I've been up to :)

My simself acted as founder. Mostly because I couldn't be bothered to make a sim specifically for something I was just going to play, and also because I don't know what my simself breeds like. And I'm all about genetic experiments, guys.
Her name is Sam Ryth here - Ryth because I couldn't decide on a surname, so I opened the nearest book (Mort by Terry Prachett) and pointed to a random word on a random page, and got 'everything'. Everything would make a terrible surname! So I took the four letters my finger was touching - ryth!
She's your typical Aquarius, 4/4/4/7/6, and Pleasure sim with the LTW of 50 first dates. I assumed this meant she would never roll the want to get married and set about other ways Sam might produce...

And that's how little Lola was born. Or spawned. Whichever you prefer.
Lola got the exact same personality as Sam, as per plantsim tradition.
But then Sam made a decision that made the turning-into-a-plantsim kinda pointless.

She fell in love, rolled the want to get married, and have a baby. Dammit, Sam!
So Sam married Nathan Gavigan, a bin sim turned townie, who has exactly the same personality as Sam - 4/4/4/7/6. At this point, I had three sims in the legacy house with the exact same personality. The only difference was Nathan is a Fortune sim.
Anyway, their child:

Meet Jacqueline Ryth, the gorgeous spare of generation two. To be honest, she was never going to get a look in for heirship, as Lola was minutes away from being an adult, but she's still been a blast to have around.
She somehow managed to get a personality of 10/8/5/3/5 out of two Aquarius parents, and she rolled Popularity - she wants to be Captain Hero, if it would ever show up in the paper.
She still lives on the main lot - I intend to keep everyone on the main lot for as long as possible, like in the Tomato Legacy - but she hasn't got a partner or anything. She's bisexual, and spent her college years with two different guys, before jumping into the hot tub with placeholder DJ Verse at the graduation party.
Jacqueline still sees DJ from time to time, but nothing can really happen there as DJ has a job to do. Plus Jacqueline isn't rolling any wants for a serious relationship.

Anyway, Lola grew up (just before Jacqueline was born, I think) and naturally, she turned out gorgeous, taking after the Ideal Plantsim more so than Sam, in my opinion.
She rolled Fortune, but I think I gave her Knowledge as a secondary. I'm not sure.

Well, Lola decided she really liked one of Sam's dates (afterall, there were 50 of them) but never rolled wants other than the occasional kiss or date.
At this point I was worried I was going to have to wait for Jacqueline to grow up afterall, when this happened...

Well, I decided to roll with it. Space babies it was!
Kind of cheating, but I felt like it was necessary.

And that's how I ended up with Moon and Titan.
Now when I think about it, I should have named Moon 'Elara' or something, one of Jupiter's moons like I named Titan. But I had my heart set on using 'Moon' so that's what she ended up with.
Anyway, Titan got a personality of 4/10/2/9/2, while Moon was 8/0/10/7/10, almost his opposite.

Overall, these two are great and I love them. Titan's fun-loving and causes a little bit of chaos, but that's cool, while Moon is more reserved and did far better at uni than her twin did.
Titan rolled Fortune, but I gave him Pleasure as secondary based on how playful and fun-loving he was. It must have influenced his LTW, which turned out to be 50 first dates. I sighed when I saw it. He's currently at 29 - I wanted to knock it out before he graduated but that didn't happen.
Moon, however, rolled Family, with a LTW of reaching her Golden Anniversary, and I finally thought we'd have someone who wouldn't mind continuing the legacy. She proved me wrong there, she only just decided to get married - after Titan! And I thought Titan would never marry!

Moon fell in love with Erik Swain, a Sim State bin sim turned Dormie, and got engaged during Freshman year. They've been together for a long, long time, and Moon only just decided to marry him - even though their first child, an ACR baby, is already toddler, nearly a child. So much for Family sims!
Moon is pregnant with her second baby at the minute.

Titan spent college going back and fourth between a two girls and a handful of dates, and rolled the want to marry Roxie Sharpe, Academie Le Tour sim turned Dormie, whilst on a date with another girl. Titan is full of tact.
Titan and Roxie just had a baby (thanks to ACR) and I'll be surprised if they have another one.

This little man is Brandon, he's Moon and Erik's son and I love him very much. His personality is 2/10/8/5/10 which is quite interesting as the offspring of two shy sims. I wonder how personalities are determined?
Anyway, he's only a toddler, so I don't really know what he's like yet, but I'm looking forward to finding out!

And then we have Logan, Titan & Roxie's son. He hasn't turned into a toddler yet, so I can't really tell you anything about him, other than he got the red recessives Titan was carrying (the Ideal Plantsim I have is red-haired).
That's all I have for now, but it's a hell of a lot of fun to play.
Hope you're all okay!
