TS4: The Rad Legacy [6]

Hello again!

By now, you should know the drill. Sims 4, still new, playing legacy, etc. To catch up, have a look under the 'Rad' tag.

Last time, we said goodbye to our founder, Alison. Anne found a boyfriend and got married. Rhea had a baby girl (Anabelle), and moved out with her husband. Anne also welcomed a little boy, named Ryker, who grew up towards the end of the update. Also, one of Anne's previous potential-spouses died in the house - they really need to stop inviting elders over!




We’re back with the family and-

Oh crap, it happened again.

Turns out Dante is a lot older than Anne – she hasn’t even had her adult birthday yet, and he’s an elder.




“Dad, you look a little different.”

“And you look like a little nerd, son!”

Is it me or does that clay bunny look like it’s having cereal with the family?




Ryker then dropped to the floor and started doing sit-ups.

The whole family seems to be energized a lot lately, but I can’t figure out what’s causing it.




Because Ryker likes to wear glasses with his pyjamas, I decided to give him glasses all the time.

He’s a real cutie.




That night, Alison shows up for the first time! As you can see, she is also energized.

“So Mum, this is the grandchild you never got to meet, Ryker.”

“Just so you know, Grandma, I’m pretty cool. No matter what my parents say.”




Later that day, Alison found out she’s expecting again!

I do like to have more than one child a generation, and with Dante growing old, I wasn’t sure I’d get round to it this generation. So this was a relief. :)




Alison waited until later that day, when she needed the bathroom, to share the good news with Dante.

“So, we’re going to be parents again!”




“Oh no, this is terrible, I’m old and I won’t get to meet the kid!”




“Lol, joke, this is the best news I’ve had all day!”

Dante actually seems really happy that he’s going to be a dad again, which is nice.




“And they all lived happily ever after, the end.”

Pretty sure it’s supposed to be the adults who read the kids to sleep, but whatever. I’ll take what I can get.




“You know what, Ryker, this is a really cool place to have breakfast. Good choice, buddy.”

“Dad I was just reading in here. You decided to eat here.”




“Hey baby, you come here often?”

“Go find a different house to haunt, Bob.”

“My name’s Freddy.”

"Whatever."

Seriously. Why does everyone have to die here?!




“I peed myself and I’m stinky and I’m embarrassed because a ghost saw me do it!”

Every time a sim wets themselves I panic, just in case they die of embarrassment. I haven’t had it happen yet, and it’s bound to show up eventually.




Anyway, while his mother got cleaned up, Ryker took himself to the park. His father has the loner trait and would hate how many people there are in the park, so Ryker took himself.

Here’s hoping he’ll find SOMEONE to play with in this retirement home of a neighbourhood.




Of course, there’s his cousin Anabelle. I wonder when she’ll grow into a teenager – I’m expecting it to be soon.

And there’s two other boys, neither of which Ryker got round to introducing himself to.




Because there was a girl in the park! Future spouse material ahoy!

…no it’s not weird that I look for future spouses while they’re kids. How else would Rhea have met Nawwaf?




“Girls are stupid, they’re all flowers, stickers, pink!”

“Yeah? Well boys are dumb because they spit and smell!”

It looked like they were mocking each other, but apparently they ended up becoming friendly. Shows you what I know about making friends, I guess.




Of course, nightfall happened and the hooded guy came out as usual.

I should probably learn his name.

Anyway, I sent Ryker home after it started getting dark.




Back at the house, Dax is out.

“So are you preparing yourself to raise your children as a ghost?”

“Pfft, I’m going to live forever.”




“MORE GLITTER, MORE GLUE, MORE, MORE, MORE!”

Ryker is apparently an artist, so I choose not to question how enthusiastically he uses his supplies. Although that does look like a pot of cheerios he’s using.




Also, Rhea is still over a lot. She’s pretty much best friends with Anne, so there’s never a day without her knocking on the door.

“So how’s your family?”

“You know, perfect as ever!”




I don’t feel like I’ve shown you much of Anne’s pregnancy.

So here’s a picture where she looks like she could explode at any minute.

I’m excited, but what else is new.




It’s a girl! This is Karli

For the first time EVER in Sims 4, I have a generation where the genders are mixed! Hooray!




Shortly after Karli’s arrival, Anne takes Ryker to the park so he can hang out with the kids again – particularly, this girl.

Whose name is Myla Jones, according to my notes.




Anne, however, was exhausted from labour, and took a nap while Ryker hung out with Myla.

Or maybe it was just her lazy trait kicking in, we’ll never know.




Back at the house, and the pop-up about the end of Dante’s life has shown up. So Dante takes it upon himself to spend time with his kids.

“The trick is to use the grapes or apples we grow in the garden, it makes for tastier pancakes!”

Yeah, I’m not entirely sure how it works, but it’s one of the ways of getting rid of all the fruit these guys have managed to harvest.




Dante then goes and feeds a bottle to his daughter, which was cute.

And to think, I thought of adding a third child. Dante probably wouldn’t have been around long enough to see its birth! :(




But Dante manages to hang onto life a little bit longer, and Anne has her adult birthday.

She definitely looks confused by her cake. I blame it on the insane trait.




“Anne! I lost the baby!”

Karli grew up rather quickly, or so it seems.




She’s pretty cute, she looks like Ryker other than the fact she’s blonde.

She got the Whiz Kid childhood aspiration, and the Loves Outdoors trait.




Karli, however, was less impressed with the llamacorn she was presented with for her birthday.

It actually made her bored! That makes her my first ever bored sim.




So I send her outside to fish, because hey, she likes it out there.

I doubt she’ll catch much, but that’s not the point.




“I’m glad we got to spend time together, even if it was just watching TV.”

“Me too, Dad.”

I was so anxious playing this, I knew he was going to go any minute, and I wanted him to at least know Karli a little.




And before you know it, Dante is dying.

I’m gutted.




For the first time since I started playing the game, more than one person reacted to a death. All three of them were Very Sad, and I think it’s likely to last for days.

I really need to be more careful when I move in spouses.




I KNOCKED THIS TIME BUT NO ONE ANSWERED

They’re a little busy.

SO AM I. LET’S GET THIS OVER WITH.




“Mr Reaper, Death, Sir, please, please, please let my husband live. Look, we have two young children and-“

I’M GOING TO STOP YOU RIGHT THERE, MRS.RAD. I DON’T THINK IT’S FAIR ON THE KIDS TO GIVE DANTE A LITTLE BIT LONGER JUST TO SNATCH HIM AWAY AGAIN.

“I suppose you’re right.”




“I’m still upset that you’re taking him.”

YEAH, YEAH, I KNOW. NOW IS THERE ANY CHANCE YOU’D BE MY NEIGHBOUR ON THIS FARM GAME, I NEED TWO MORE TO UNLOCK-

“Just do your job.”




Afterwards, Death decides to hang out with Anne, and they get along pretty well. She even uses her charisma skills to flatter him, and it worked!

She asked to go cloud-gazing with him, but apparently that was too much for the reaper, and he left. But who knows. Maybe he’ll be back – we seem to see him like every chapter anyway.




So Dante is gone and leaves a lot of misery behind for his family. And to make matters worse, it’s Ryker’s birthday. Who wants to be miserable on their birthday?

“I wish…I wish my Dad would come back!”

Well, he might. But as a ghost.




Anyway, Ryker grew up very handsome!

He gained the Foodie trait, and the aspiration of Master Chef. Surprisingly useful trait roll there! I’m very happy with that.
