The Rad Legacy: Nineteen!

Wow, nineteen chapters in, generation five is in charge, and generation six is born in-game - I'm over half way there!

Last time, we found out that I made a boo boo with ageing in my 'hood, resulting in generation five starting quicker than I had anticipated. Which naturally led to Jasper finding a wife via the Gallery dating service (aka, I borrowed a sim from nicholaplaysthesims), and having to get to know her on a trip to Granite Falls (I always want to type "Gravity Falls"). While things were going swimmingly, two evil sims together led to much insulting and a bit of a step backwards in their relationship. And then Kassidy kicked the bucket, which didn't really help with things, and Jasper got a new job as a Scientist.

And we're back in the lab with Jasper!

I have to say, I really am enjoying the interactive careers. Compared to TS3, when I could take or leave the interactive jobs. It's a pretty good break from being on the home lot all day!

Plus Jasper's beginning to invent fun things...like the freeze ray!




"So you've been insulting me since breakfast, and I just invented the freeze ray!"

"Jasper, please...I didn't know you were that sensitive!"

"A creative loner with the soul mate aspiration who isn't sensitive? What planet are you from?!"




"By the way, my final trait is evil!"

He eventually let her out because she was blocking the stairs, but he greatly enjoyed freezing her.




"YOU FROZE A WOMAN AT WORK?!"

"Yeaaaaah...it was awesome."




"That does sound pretty awesome, actually. You should let me try it some time."

"Well, evil minds think alike! Just don't freeze me."

"You're kinda fun, so I won't freeze you."




"Yaaaawn, is it getting late or what?!"

"Really? That old trick? Reeeally?"




"Don't ruin it, Jasper. Romance is fun!"

"Yeah, I know...I'm glad you're still here, Lauren."




"I'm not going anywhere, Jasper."




Another morning, another day at the office.

Which of course involves Jasper drinking strange liquids. I hope you like pictures of science, 'cause this update is full of them.




Post-work, not a lot happened - some sleeping, some eating.

But Kassidy came out for the first time, which was nice, and I'm pretty sure she didn't break anything!




Saturday rolled around, and apparently, scientists only work Monday to Friday.

"Lauren, I have the day off...how about I take you on a proper date?"

"What, like flowers, a nice dinner, maybe a movie?"




"I was thinking more of a nice walk around a museum while we get to know each other a little more."

"Wow, Jasper, way to sweep a girl off her feet."

"What? What's wrong with my plan?"

"Nothing. I'm in, let's go."




Once they were fed, watered and clothed, Jasper and Lauren went out to paint the town together.

"Were you serious about the museum?"

"What's wrong with museums?"

"Well, they totally SCREAM romance, don't they?"

"It'll be fun, you'll see."




Of course, they did have fun on their date, not that any of the museum exhibits got a look in.

About time these two got themselves sorted!




Jasper and Lauren ended up in the museum garden, chatting away, which made for some pretty shots.

...no I didn't send them outside just because it was prettier, why do you ask? >_>




The date resulted in the pair of them becoming boyfriend and girlfriend, despite Lauren's non-commital trait.




You could argue that the date unofficially continued when they got home.

Come on generation six!




"Hey, Jasper...I have some news..."

"Right. What's up?"

"We're going to be parents!"

"You're kidding?!"




Straight after finding out he was going to be a dad, Jasper headed out to the garden to visit his mother's gravestone, which was a little bit heartbreaking.

I'm sure she'll meet her new grandchild when she comes haunting, though.




I mean, Prince's urn is in the road, and he comes haunting!

He's even cleaning the toilet, rather than breaking it (Lauren had terrible morning sickness).




The next day, Oliver Spencer-Kim-Lewis came knocking, and it looks like time has marched on for her.

"Is Mikel home?"

Mikel hasn't lived here for like a whole chapter, go away Olivia. I do wonder how long Mikel has before he turns into an elder - I'd better check on him at some point!




"Wow, you're huge, Lauren! Sure it's only one baby in there?"

"I'll kick your ass if it's more than one, I swear."




The only problem with following Jasper to work everyday is that I miss out on usual legacy happenings, and so events seem to pass quickly and jump around.

Hence why Lauren is so big and so ache-y. I think I might have to stop following Jasper to work when the baby arrives, otherwise I'll miss most of its life!




Kassidy hasn't come back since that first night, and now I'm beginning to think she won't, whereas Prince is always out and about. Sometimes doing odd things like push-ups in the living room.

And no, I don't have any idea what Lauren is doing.




After what seems like the quickest pregnancy on earth, Lauren goes into labour, and I stupidly allowed Jasper to go to the hospital with her. Some help he was.

"Oh plumbbob, my girlfriend is in labour! Somebody DO something!"

"Jasper? I'm the one in labour. Chill out. Jeez."




There was something about Lauren being in a hospital gown that was super adorable, and I'm not sure what it was.

And yes, that is the only reason I included this picture.




"Alright now, Miss Langley, I'm about to beginning to process of birthing your baby. Are you comfortable?"

"What do you think?!"

That machine looks anything but comfortable, that's what I think.




And where's Jasper in all of this? Outside.

He's even cracked open a can of juice to celebrate, rather than heading inside to, you know, actually support his partner!




"Can you people EVER deliver a baby without removing the heart?!"




It's a baby!

...I mean, it's a girl! That makes...8 girls to 3 boys born in the legacy. I think?

This is Arrietty Rad.




Arrietty got sent home, where Jasper immediately picked her up, which I thought was adorable!

"What do I do with it?"

Jasper's still adapting to fatherhood, though!




So Jasper invented a satellite at work, and contacte the aliens - cue them invading his workplace!

"Hi! You clearly didn't bother with a disguise!"

Seriously, I got a pop-up that this lady was an alien and Jasper had figured it out like three times. I get it, she's not disguised!






It must be Bring Your Alien to Work Day, because they're freaking everywhere!

Like that's any good - alien babies need ABDUCTIONS! And I've yet to have one in TS4!

...Also, why do all my lady aliens have that hair?




Bring Your Alien to Work Day was so tiring that Jasper passed out by the mail box. He had been trying to pay the bills, but passed out before he was able to, and the power got shut off. Unfortunate timing, that.

Eventually Lauren stepped around her sleeping boyfriend and paid the bills, just to get the power back on!




Wow, is it that time already?!

And look, she got the blue hair!




Isn't she just the cutest? At first glance, she looks a lot like Jasper because of her colouring, but we'll see whose features are in there as she grows.

She got the Whiz Kid aspiration, and the Outgoing trait. I'm not entirely sure, but I don't think we've had a Rad with that trait. At least not for awhile, anyway.




"Mum, why do I have to play chess?"

"Arrietty, you want to be a Whiz Kid, you need to play chess."

"I suddenly want to change my aspiration."
