Henstead Island: Winter at University

The picture has nothing to do with the update, it was just pretty :)
I have been meaning to post this for AGES. The last three weeks have been total chaos, but things are starting to calm down again. If you need a reminder about Henstead Island, you'll find the index here.
Last time we were at uni, we watched David Ottomas romance his way through his first two years. Now his younger sister Sharla is joining him!

Sharla is very happy about being away from home for the first time.
Well, it's probably just the nice witch thing coming into effect, but you know. Also she only has four nice points, I feel she may have chosen the wrong alignment...

She gets straight to work on that 'fall in love' want she's been harbouring for the whole of her teen years. Sharla's a family sim, and so a husband is top of the list.
Time to impress some boys, right?

I don't think he was very impressed.
Oh well, we're not missing out on much.

So the lack of men at the dorm sent Sharla out to the little cafe on campus, hoping to find someone slightly more interesting.
And the only reason I included this picture was because I love the broomstick animations. The cafe itself was a bust - no guys there for Sharla!

Back at the dorm though, she stumbled on this fellow - Grant Johnston. Had he been here this entire time?
Either way, Sharla decided immediately that she liked him.

And where was David in all of this? Probably being lazy.
He doesn't look bothered that his younger sister has a potential boyfriend - so much for the protective older brother stereotype, right?

Days pass, and Sharla decides not to get into anything serious too early, and explores her options.
I really like this barista, but sadly, their romance went nowhere.

David, meanwhile, was having some romance troubles of his own. Troubles that were caused entirely by him.
Frances Tsang has lived in the dorm the entire time he's been here, how is it that he's only just noticing her? While his current girlfriend, Lisa Gonzaga, watches him, distressed.

To decide how it would end, I waited until an engagement want popped up.
But David enjoyed that far too much.

He also rolled the want to take Frankie on a proper date, so they headed over to the park together for the afternoon.
They're really cute together, even if he does have Lisa waiting on him as well.

"Frankie, we've only known each other for a handful of days, but you're already the coolest person I've ever met..."
Well, I think that settles that dilemma.

"Will you marry me, Frankie? Please?"
"Oh David! It's so soon, but it feels right!"

Quickest relationship ever, right?
I guess it runs in the family - I imagine Sam and Peter Ottomas got engaged and pregnant really early. I guess it's taught the kids to move as quickly as possible in their relationships!

Sharla, meanwhile, was rolling wants to cast evil spells.
I think those four nice points may be deciding her alignment, right?

These Ottomas kids sure do move quickly, but I'm trying to play by their wants. Maybe all this quickness will have repercussions later on.

"Oh Grant, you've made me the happiest witch ever!"
I barely know anything about this Grant guy. Dammit guys, moving so quickly I can't keep up!

Ooh, that's interesting. A Family sim with red rings...what do you think it spells about the future?

Back at the dorm, Sharla's playing protective sister over David, and starting fights with his missus.
Or perhaps she just doesn't like how quickly he's moving with Frankie, the hypocrite.

That said, she also attacked his ex, Lisa.
I'm thinking Sharla just doesn't like anyone her brother does.

And with most of the drama out of the way, David graduates! With a 3.8 in Philosophy - he never did choose a major. And given the fact he was influencing people to do his work for him, I'm surprised David did as well as he did.

I had to stage some pictures of the graduation, I just had to.
Sam and Peter are over the moon their son graduated from college, something neither of them had the opportunity to do. They may not care much about academics themselves, but they're still impressed by their kids!

Henstead's largest family! Aw, I love them all :)

Of course the staged pictures don't really represent how the actual graduation party played out.
All of the Ottomases are keen dancers, it was a massive smustle-fest.

David grew up in the shower of all places, in an outfit let him keep. He also got a haircut - the long hair and the hat weren't really him anymore.

So in the next rotation, David and Frankie will be their own household! Sharla still has two years left at uni, and she'll be joined by Tommy next time.
See you soon!
