The Rad Legacy: Twenty-Three!

Apparently I have nothing better than sims to do, because here's another update!

Last time, Arrietty tried to move on with her life after the death of her father, whilst her mother Lauren continued feeling sad. Arrietty met an interesting fellow named Jairo Forbes, who she fell in love with quite quickly. It soon became apparent that Jairo was an alien, not that it changed anything for the couple. Unfortunately, Lauren didn’t live long enough to see her little girl get married, and passed away towards the end of the chapter.

“Jairo, I’ve been thinking…rather than being sad over Mum’s passing, how about we try and make it a celebration.”

“Alright. How do you suggest we do that?”

“How about we hold the wedding tomorrow?”

“Sounds wonderful to me.”




And so that’s exactly what the couple did – they invited all of their friends and the people they’d spoken to on occasion, and they all showed up in their finest for the wedding of a generation.

Not that they seemed happy about it, mind you. They should be – this is the first proper wedding in ages!




Mikel was even able to stop by to see his niece get married!

I love seeing the old siblings show up J




Also, rather than having everyone freak out over seeing an alien – despite knowing he is an alien – Jairo chose to get married in disguise.

It’s what he looked like when they met, anyway.




Look, a proper wedding! Well, minus everyone sitting down to watch the ceremony.

I don’t think I’ve thrown a proper wedding in the legacy so far, though I may be wrong.




Congratulations Mr and Mrs Rad!

(although Jairo kept his surname…shhh!)




With the ceremony done, the world’s oddest reception could begin! Which naturally involved the pool, teenage homework, drinks, and apparently a miserable Mikel.






Naturally, the celebrations led to another unofficial celebration of their love.

Come on generation seven!




“How awesome am I? My life is GREAT!”




It wasn’t long before Arrietty had something she just had to share.

“So, I got some good news this morning, Jairo…”




“I’m pregnant! Ta da!”




“Really? That is excellent!”

“Isn’t it just? We’re going to have a little half-alien baby!”




Arrietty didn’t seem quite so pleased by the pregnancy later on, when her back was aching and the baby was kicking in every direction.

Still exciting though, right? J




“Hey, I just got the news! Congratulations, grandchild I never met!”

“Thanks, grandma I never knew!”




Halfway through Arrietty’s pregnancy, the couple decided to have a night out in Windenburg to officially celebrate their incoming child.

Basically, I nipped in to see what another family was up to, and found the couple there, so I decided to roll with it.








The pair of them decided to be the first ones in my game to test out the new walk-in closets.

Which they enjoyed very much.




Back at the house, Jairo discovered the satellite dish meant the TV could receive the alien channel he was used to back on his home planet, and got a sad moodlet from it.

I had no idea this was even a thing – I’m definitely impressed by all the small details I keep discovering as I play!




Meanwhile, Arrietty -

"Do you mind?!"




Well, to give Arrietty back her privacy, why don't we take a look at the house? I refurbished it.

In fact, you’d barely recognise it as the same house they moved into back in chapter 21. But it is – I took out the stilts, because they were getting on my nerves, and they need more space for their growing family.






It’s still very open plan, still very bright, and I still love it.

I’m finally happy with the house, and I’m pretty sure the Rads will be here until the very end now. Which isn't that far away, really, when you think about it.



Basically, I like the house, and this family, very much.

All a good sign in a legacy about to reach generation seven, right?




Meanwhile, Kassidy is finally getting to know her granddaughter, which is actually really cute.

I hope Arrietty and Jairo are around to meet their grandkids, but we’ll see.




The next morning, and Arrietty’s having labour pains.

Are you as excited as I am?




Naturally, I had Arrietty go to the hospital. It’s still a bit of a novelty for me, as only two of the legacy babies have been born here.

This does mean yet another Rad lady is having to put up with that birthing machine, though.




And of course, Jairo came along too – but he’s busy eating the celebration cake rather than actually witnessing the birth of his child.

What else is new, right? None of the guys are ever in the room!




“Well, I’ve heard all sorts of horror stories about this machine, so um, just don’t take my heart out, okay?”

“No promises! Now relax and let us professionals do the work!!”

“Um.”




“Dammit, I should have practised with this machine more…”

“You’re not really filling me with confidence.”




Eventually a little girl came into the world! And look, she’s an alien! Or at least part alien.

This is Gwendolyn Rad.




“Aw, her skin matches my hair!”

I love her, but seriously when are we going to get another boy Rad? That makes 9 girls to 3 boys born in the legacy!




Back at the house, and Jairo has realised there’s a new member of the family.

Naturally, he loves her.




Oddly enough, one of Jairo’s friends invited him to a party in the garden of a mansion that night.

 I had Jairo go, more out of curiosity than anything else – Get Together is still new to me, so why not explore it a little.




Jairo quickly got his groove on, which quite honestly, is freaking hilarious.

He was also really far away from the other dancers, for some reason.




Post-party, and back at the house, and the Rad baby is not so little anymore!

Gwendolyn rolled the Social Butterfly aspiration, and the Gloomy trait.




She also got a quick makeover. She doesn’t appear to have any alien abilities, so I’m going to say she’s more human than anything else.

I also think she got Arrietty’s red hair, because neither Jairo nor Arrietty have that hair colour Gwen has.




Also, it turns out Gwen isn’t going to be an only child for much longer – Arrietty’s expecting again!

I’ll be able to hold an heir poll this generation! Huzzah!




“So, you know how great Gwen is and everything?”

“Yeah, we are rather lucky.”

“We are! We’re having another little one!”




“That is great news, Arrietty!”

“I know, right?”

“Also, do you know you are producing green stink?”

“I didn’t have time to bathe, I had to tell you about the baby.”




So Gwendolyn joined the League of Adventurers, a kid’s club, and was promptly invited to a meeting.

In the centre of Windenburg, in the middle of the night. What kind of kid’s club is this?




Either way, Gwen ended up really enjoying herself with the other kids.

 It’s a really neat way for them to all meet and get to know each other!




“Weird teenager just off the front of the ship!”

Apparently, nobody in Windenburg has a bedtime.




Oh wait. This lady does.

She just chose to sleep in the park.




By the end of the night, Gwen was good friends with Elsa, the leader of the club, and had made great strides towards completing her childhood aspiration.

Which made me extremely happy.




Dawn arrived before home time did, though.

Seriously, how are they getting away with it? I’m pretty sure there are curfews in the other sims games!




“So I heard you were out late with a bunch of strangers last night.”

“They were just kids like me, Daddy.”

“Oh. Well that’s fine then, carry on.”
