Mayweather Monster Mash: Chapter Two
Dec. 8th, 2017 11:23 pmI remember when I imagined finishing this by Halloween. That worked out well, didn't it? OH WELL.
The last chapter, and the first update of this challenge, looked a little bit like this:

You see, my founder - the handsome cyclops Jack Mayweather - was abducted rather quickly but some (probably intoxicated) aliens. Apparently getting knocked up didn't hinder his quest for a bride, as Jack soon found himself romancing Lilly Do. His alien daughter, Esmerelda, was born, and Lilly adopted a little girl named Brittany. It was then the family made a start of filling their yard with a ghost of every colour.
So that's our quick recap done, let's see what this chapter has in store for us!

After the fiery death that we ended our last update on, we rejoin the family to find them being completely wholesome. Jack's teaching little Esme how to talk.
You could almost believe they were a normal family.

"Darn, I wish I lived over there! They have swings and everything."
And probably a lot less death and supernaturals.

As it happens, Lilly is pregnant. And like Jack, she's not brilliant at being pregnant.
So this should be fun, right?

Ladies and gentlemen, meet the second victim for our ghost hunt. Continuing my trend of trying not to get attached to these sims, I've completely forgotten this guy's name.
It's probably for the best. We'll name him Matt for now, I guess.

I was planning on having Matt become the food poisoning/illness ghost, so we need some dirty dishes/gross food. He gets to cloud watch while he waits on the off chance he'll be squashed by a satellite.
It's literally only happened to me once in the years I've played this game, so I won't hold my breath.

Meanwhile, Jack starts the task of potty training Esmerelda, one of my least favourite things to do without smart milk.

His reward for being a good dad is some alone time with the dance sphere he just bought. Totally not trying for a second alien pregnancy. Nope.

It's going to take a little longer than I initially thought.
Also, in hindsight, I probably should have waited a little bit longer before getting Jack pregnant again. Oh well.

By the time evening had arrived, Matt had eaten a series of gross meals, licked a few plates clean, and was still feeling fine and dandy. No sign of any impending sickness at all. Perhaps his sloppiness was saving him from it?
Also, check out that observatory floating in the background.

So I decided to change tactics, and go for a flies death - something else I've never really done with the game.
I ended up having to ask for help on tumblr for this, that should reflect just how lovely I am to all of my sims.

Gasp! Who saw that coming??
I'm actually pretty excited, I can't wait to see who the baby takes after!

The next morning, Esmerelda learned how to walk - and you can see her ability to talk is in there, too.
She's enjoying a nice, sheltered childhood.

She's cute and I adore her.
Even if she does smell.

Looking back on the screenshots, I'm picturing this as a quiet time in the Mayweathers lives, with not much going on really.
The madness will come later, I'm sure.

FINALLY.
Looks like we'll be getting another addition to the family soon!

"Guess who's a genius!"
And almost totally ignored, bless her.

In the end, neither Jack nor Lilly succeeded in potty training Esmerelda, but I'm okay with that really.
Anyway, her birthday was nice and quiet.

And here's our cute little black sheep, all grown up!
The bridge of her nose is kinda funky, but otherwise, all good!

Finally, someone has enough aspiration to use rewards!
Oh, how I have missed this!

And oh, how Jack missed the aliens, apparently, as he rolled the want to get abducted again.
As if once on the telescope and once on the dance sphere was not enough.

That was nice and quick, good job aliens.

They really should stop driving drunk, though.

The two aren't related, Jack, you were already pregnant.

Shortly after Jack's Epic Space Adventure, Lilly goes into labour.
And Jack realises he's going to have to do the same thing in a few days.

Ladies and gentlemen, meet Jack's new son, Rincewind!

Rincewind is promptly introduced to the floor.
I'm sorry, little man.

"Wait, how long have I had a brother?"

"Pregnant? But how?"
Maybe something to do with your alien abduction obsession, Jack.

Things are still quite quiet for the family, really.

Sheesh, you leave them alone for five minutes and they try to add another baby to the family.
Managed to stop that from happening. This time.

FINALLY.
This seemed to take ages! And was not fun to play through.

SAM, REALLY?
If I had known I would see you, Death, I would have tidied the place up a bit.
HA HA. VERY FUNNY.

Afterwards, it was straight to work on tidying up the place.
Jack thought this was probably the best place to bump into his second (third?) trimester.

And here's where I broke a teeny, tiny rule - we're not supposed to use service sims.
But come on, there was a roach infestation! Nobody likes roaches!

Back to the wholesome family memories - it's birthday time!
Let's see what little Rincewind looks like.

"Stop crying, Jack, he's beautiful!"

I don't think any of Lilly's genetics made it into little Rincewind, he's the spitting image of his father!
And I love him!

That night, Lilly headed off to the Tacky Flamingo to meet some supernaturals and befriend some people for the ghost hunt.

YES, she was able to greet and chat to a vampire!
That feels a little bit like progress!

And as luck would have it, a witch also appeared!
Befriend ALL the supernaturals!

"I'm leaving too soon!"
"I'm going to harass you via the phone for the next week."
"Sounds delightful!"

Back at the house, toddler training has begun again.
It honestly feels never ending.

Anyway, it's not long before Jack goes into labour.

And it's a little girl!
Her name is Gytha.

Lilly, meanwhile, is moving in the next ghost!
Once again, I don't recall his name. I really didn't want to get attached, I'm sorry.

We have time for one last birthday in this update - little under-appreciated Brittany's about to become a teenager!

She rolled Family, and I don't know why but that surprised me.
But that's all we have time for this chapter - see you next time for more ghosts, kids and supernaturals!

Date: 2017-12-16 03:17 pm (UTC)Heh, Brittany may not be entirely wrong about living over there, with the swings. :P I don't think I'd want to live in a haunted house like theirs is about to become!
Alright, so flies are next. Never done that, myself. Oh, by the way, in case you were to need tips for some of the other deaths, there's still this oldie but goodie tutorial that could help you there. :) Edit: it's from the Nightlife era, so at least death by elevator and death by murphy bed are not included, but most of them are, anyway.
Yay for more babies, both regular ones and alien ones! :) It's nice that Esmeralda got a good, regular toddlerhood/childhood, too.
Aww, hi little Rincewind! Poor kid, straight on the floor... Well, that's the fate of many a sim, I suppose.
Success with the flies, congrats! Yeah, I imagine a lengthy death like that must be painful to do, for a usually benevolent simmer. I know I'd find it hard to stomach. But that's two in the bag!
Aww, little Rincewind grew up a cutie! Yeah, I know what you mean about the neverending toddler training. That's how it goes in a big household.
Yesss, supernaturals! Good progress there.
Hii little Gytha! It's becoming quite a big family.
So the next ghost is all lined up. I wonder what you'll go for next.
Brittany grew up way cute, too. Maybe she'll be a little less underappreciated as a teen.
Fun update again, keep up the good work! :)
