Culpepper Pals: Autumn 1: McMullen

I've played over half of Autumn already, but my life has been pure chaos lately so I haven't managed to write anything up. Let's get the season started!
Last time, Jo still had a roommate - her good friend Norah Titan. Now Norah has moved into her own apartment with her girlfriend, Miko Ojo, Jo's striking it out on her own in a new apartment. Jo spent most of the summer partying for her aspiration, which was great fun. At the end of the rotation, Jo had also been flirting a little bit with Salim Benali, but who knows if there's anything there!
Right, let's see what Jo gets up to living alone for the first time! There's an index here, and a summary of the last rotation here, if you need them.

For Jo, autumn starts off with a work out.
She had some extra space in her new apartment that I didn’t know what to do with, so I bought her a punch bag. No Culpepper Pals have athletic equipment, so this is a first.

Jo heads to work, but her apartment isn’t empty for long.
Salim drops by for some peace and quiet, whilst Adora makes herself some breakfast. I can’t imagine Jo being upset by this.

That night, there’s a new member to the household: little Snickers.
When I played Jo, I had just gotten the Cats and Dogs expansion! So Snickers is my first ca! This should be fun!

Also it snowed a little bit, which was wonderful.
Jo immediately headed outside to check it out, before coming back in to make dinner.

Snickers is so small I adore her <3

To celebrate the new kitten, and her first night in her new apartment, Jo threw a party.
Like she really needs an excuse to party!

It got quite crowded quite quickly.
All the regulars were there, plus a few others that Jo knows. She’s accumulated a lot of friends, I guess.

There’s even some undead entertainment!

And Father Winter is naked for some reason!
I honestly have no idea.

Well, someone overdid it.
The sign of a good party, right? Maybe? I think it ended on bronze or silver, I’m not sure.

The following day was perfect.
Perfect for staying in bed and recovering from the night before.

I thought microwave chicken nuggets were perfect recovery food, too – until I remembered that Jo is a vegetarian.
I feel like the worst simmer : ( Poor Jo

Later that day, Jo was ready to socialise again.
Salim invited her out, and dragged her to some random house in Brindleton Bay. And then, of course, he vanished, leaving her there alone.

And the residents of the house she was apparently visiting had a fire. Not that Jo seems bothered.
“Neat, Norah sent me a funny gif.”

How cute is little Snickers?
I’m sorry, there’s going to be quite a few screenshots of her in this update.

The next day begins with a morning jog, because apparently I’ve decided Jo is into fitness at the moment.

And then the Culpepper ladies were invited over for some dancing!
Can I still call them the Culpepper ladies when Norah now lives in the building next door? :0
Snickers grew up!
She looks the tiniest little bit derpy, and honestly, I love it.

Another night, another party.
There’s a lot of this with Jo. All for that aspiration. I actually have great fun playing all these parties!
It also seemed like the perfect time to make a move on Salim, after the two of them flirted a little last season. Never mind the fact he stood her up in Brindleton Bay, Jo didn’t seem that bothered by that.
She was, however, bothered when he turned down her pick up line. No one likes to be embarrassed at their own party.

At this point, Caleb entered looking as dramatic as possible.
Vampire speed and eternal sadness. What an entrance. Arun Bheeda looks a little confused by the sudden emo atmosphere.

Elsewhere, Jo had sought Norah out for a second opinion.
“I’m actually really annoyed at Salim right now,” Jo said, grumpily looking at him over her shoulder, “He just doesn’t seem interested in me.”
“He did stand you up a few days ago, are you sure you want to date him?”
“Hey, Miko didn’t warm to you straight away.”

“No, Miko just didn’t like tulips,” Norah replied, glancing at Salim, “I don’t know, Jo. Maybe it’s time to cut your losses. Look for someone else.”
“But I do like a challenge, Norah.”
“Think about Dusty. Candy played hard to get, and look how that ended up.”
“I hate it when you’re right,” Jo smiled, “Alright, I’ll keep an eye out for someone else.”

Elsewhere at the party…
What embarrassing thing has Caleb admitted out loud? Answers on a postcard, please.

The morning after the night before.
And the house is wrecked. Jo is a Neat sim, so she finds this extra upsetting.

I got distracted while she was cleaning up.
I absolutely love that the pavement is full of leaves??

Once the apartment was back to normal, Jo decided to get set up for Harvestfest, which is the following day.
I honestly love that they can dig through these boxes for decorations. My Christmas decorations are kept in the attic in a very similar box!

Don’t talk to me or my cat ever again, right? Jo looks so protective over Snickers.
Also her name was chosen randomly. It was just the first one to pop into my head.

She has a bed in the apartment, but of course the hallway is better.

5am Spice Market People Watching
What’s this guy’s story? Why is he out in a towel and a sparkly collar? What has spooked him?

Harvestfest morning, and it’s samosas for breakfast. Jo is also stinky for some reason?
Poor food stand girl, having to work Harvestfest and put up with smelly customers.

By the time Jo got back up to the apartment, gnomes had appeared.
I will fully own up to this – I had to google how to appease them. I’ve not had much luck randomly guessing in the past.
Jo is probably the worst cook out of all the Culpepper Pals, so her Grand Meal should be interesting to say the least.

She’s pretty confident about that tofu turkey.
She’s having the Culpepper Pals (minus Kirby) over for Harvestfest lunch, let’s hope they like her cooking!
Not one person sat down to dinner. Which is fine, because it sucked.
Also Salim let himself in, he wasn’t actually invited.

I take my attention off the gnomes for ten minutes and they redecorate the apartment with seed packets.

All in all, a good Harvestfest.

But the festivities aren’t over yet.
Time to go to a rave in Windenburg!

Caleb was there, but otherwise Jo didn’t know many people there. Which is great! She loves making friends, so it’s always good to introduce Jo to new people.

Back home, Snickers has developed a fear of the bath.
Seemed a bit random, but in a way, kind of cool? My dogs are afraid of the airer we dry laundry on, so I guess it’s nice to have a touch of that realism in the game.
“Do I even know you?”
“We met once and I never forgot about you.”
“…what the heck?”
They also are already in the red with relationship, so this should be fun. I just thought I’d have her take the random opportunity seeing as Salim isn’t interested. You never know!

“He’s ignoring me to talk to the hedge!”
Yeah, something tells me this isn’t true love unfolding before our eyes.

“Hey Norah, guess who is on the worst date ever!”
She went home pretty quickly. After paying for dinner, of course. Random weirdo got a free meal out of Jo!

Besides, I think Snickers is all she needs in her life right now.
How cute <3

“Are you freakin’ kidding me?!”
Not only was the date lame, but she also got food poisoning! There’s probably a lesson to be learned from this somewhere. Not sure what it is, though.
Maybe don’t go on dates with random guys who call you up.

So Jo gets to spend the night sipping water and hanging out with her cat.
Which would be a nice evening, if it wasn’t for the food poisoning thing.

The last morning of the rotation is gloomy. So gloomy that Jo has to take her umbrella for a run, which I thought looked pretty odd.

And she’s seeing the season out with a party, of course!
I actually really enjoy throwing these things for Jo, I didn’t think I would have this much fun.

This particular party is to celebrate Jo and Norah finally becoming Best Friends.
Not that Jo needs an excuse to party. Luckily she invites all her neighbours, otherwise I reckon it’d be awful to live on the same floor as her!

“So are you, like, the real Father Winter?”
“Now that would be telling.”
“So why did you, like, bring your own cup of tea?”

I’m not entirely sure why Kirby came to the party to take a bath.

“Cheers to winter arriving! And a drink for each hand!”
And thanks to her guests for eating leftover tofu turkey! No way was Jo going to manage all of that alone.

“All of my friends are gross.”
All of your rotations seem to end this way.

Have one last picture of Snickers before you go J
That’s all autumn had in store for Jo, join me next time when we see what Norah Titan and Miko Ojo are up to!
