Let me start off by saying: I have no idea how well this is going to work.

That's not generally a good start for a challenge, but this entire thing is incredibly experimental. You see, I stumbled across something called the "Age of Instant" charm when looking up spells for Sims 1 Makin' Magic, and discovered that you can (permanently) age children up using it. So effectively, you could play 'generations'...

I decided to give it a go. Disclaimer: I'm only aiming for five generations, because it's honestly just a fun experiment to see if it's possible.

With all that said, let's see what happens, shall we?

Meet Tuxedo Jones.

Yes, that is genuinely his name. He was based off a sim I was playing a couple of years ago - that Tuxedo was aiming for superstardom. This one is not.

He has a personality of 4/4/4/7/6, which makes him an Aquarius, and I am not planning to find him a job, ever. We'll just have to cope until he finds a wife.

Besides, I have other plans for Tuxedo. I just had to wait for the Mystery Man and his box.

I hope you like magic, because I rely heavily on it for everything. It really is my favourite expansion pack ever <3

Wasting no time at all!

I am planning to up and move the family to Magic Town eventually. I also didn't feel like starting on a big empty lot, so Tuxedo is living in one of the dinky premade houses. I guess you could argue it's not a 'true legacy' without some kind of lawn living, but seeing as there's no ~official ruleset I'm going to do whatever.

I will not cheat, for money or moods, though. That seems like a given.

It's like going home 😍

The nostalgia I feel looking at this screen!

Tuxedo immediately gets to work on earning some Magi coins.

I think giving shows pays more, but Tuxedo has absolutely no skills at all, so we're duelling until then. I think I also read somewhere that duelling Vicki pays the most, but I'm not sure how true that is.

Magic Town townies have the best names!

Bearing in mind their last name is always "Strange", there's literally a guy wandering around called Deadward Strange. That's so edgy!

Also I think the Hole in the Ground is my favourite method of sims transport ever.

His house looks like an entirely different world to Magic Town. So cute and retro and suburban.

Apart from the inflatable sofa, maybe. They're just cheap and cheerful and very, very 90s.

After a good night's sleep, it's straight back to Magic Town!

Where Tuxedo immediately blows $20 on a rollercoaster ride. Money's tight, but I can't blame him - he's having the time of his life!

The main reason he came back to Magic Town? Ingredients.

Magic is going to help this man find a girlfriend, hold a wedding, and raise their kid. Which naturally means doing 450 different favours for the vendors as I try to get some Clown Confetti.

I don't think I've ever seen anyone this excited for candyfloss. Ever.

There's actually a method behind winning duels. I draw it up on a lil chart that looks like this:

Each of the spells beats two spells, and is beaten by two spells. My brother used to tell me this was cheating when we were kids, but I disagree.

I think there's a lot of little things like this in the Sims 1, actually. I know there are elements of this kind of strategy involved with the Superstar career.

I think it's pretty cool. And that chart was on the wall above the computer when I was around 11 years old. :)

After all that excitement, it's time for some lunch.

Which funnily enough, looks exactly like breakfast. And like dinner last night. I had totally forgotten that all food looked the same in TS1!

The following day, Tuxedo throws a party to meet unsuspecting folk to cast spells on later. And maybe a future wife.

You didn't need to know anyone to throw a party, back in the TS1 days. Unfortunately Tuxedo is a bad host, because one of the guests was the Mime. :(

Also Betty Newbie turned up without Bob and proceeded to dance with any man who would pay her attention, which amused me a little. I guess Bob was too lazy to come partying with her?

Anyway, the party didn't last long, but Tuxedo did make some acquaintances for later spells.

There's something very special about the way stoves just randomly explode into flames in TS1. It seems to happen almost constantly!

Luckily I'd put a smoke detector in, and after this Tuxedo gained some cooking skill points.

Another day, another duel.

Although at this one, Gunther and Cornelia Goth are making out. So that's fun, right? No better place for romance than on a gloomy Magic Town lot. :)

Speaking of romance, Tuxedo is still stocking up on ingredients for finding love.

The Lovestruck spell is quite simple, but the Big Question, which is the spell you need for marriage, requires two ingredients that involve talking to vendors...

It has been what? 16 years? Since this expansion pack came out? And this is still the worst task.

It takes ages, and I always feel a little bit cheated when Mara hands over a Pegasus Feather instead of the Wizard's Eyelashes I really wanted.

Also considering their motives drop like a lead balloon in this game, I'm pleased to announce this is the first time he has passed out - multiple days into the challenge!

Things are going well!

Tuxedo has also taken up beekeeping, seeing as Honey is an ingredient used often in spells and money is tight.

At this point, my boyfriend Rob asked me why I had fenced him in - when Tuxedo moved in there was originally a garden/farming patch there. I needed it for random stuff as the house is so small.

I wish Tuxedo had enough money for Bonehilda, because his lot is disgusting.

Keeping him alive is hard enough without keeping the house tidy too.

The following day, Tuxedo invited over Eloisa Townie, who he met at that bad party he threw.

She's the first woman he's spoken to where things went well - and also she doesn't have a magic wand which is very important - so I've pretty much decided she'll be his wife eventually.

A quick spell, and they're in love.

I probably could've built up their relationship the old fashioned way. Heck, that might even have quicker than running around Magic Town.

With that said, after Eloisa went home Tux jumped straight back into the hole.

We still need clown confetti if he's going to get married!

I hear getting married is a pain in the ass without magic in TS1.

I've honestly never tried. I've always used magic. Maybe before this challenge is over, I'll try it the old fashioned way.

It was the middle of the night when Tuxedo made the spell he needed, and too late to immediately invited Eloisa over, so I had him whip up a charm with all the beeswax he had laying around.

The Beauty or Beast charm! Definitely one of my favourites.

He'll be a werewolf until he changes clothes! Which was immediately, as he wanted to go to bed. This will not be the last time I cast that charm, I'm sure of it.

The following afternoon, I had Tuxedo cast the Big Question.

And it didn't work. And I have no idea why. That'll teach me for thinking it'll be easier than the traditional method.

Even so, I'm still going to have Tux gather the ingredients and try again.

Completely unrelated to everything else happening in the chapter, but check out these cats fighting in the road - they look like they're dancing together?!

Also I have no idea why Tuxedo's house is a magnet for stray animals.

I had Tuxedo work on his skills a little bit in the hopes he could give shows in Magic Town, but he's still not quite good enough.

He's going to have work on his logic if I'm ever going to be able to move the family to Magic Town.

That evening, Tuxedo invited Eloisa over, and for some reason, she brought half the neighbourhood with her.

All of them flocked to the bathroom, of course. This is the sims.

I had Tuxedo cast the Beauty or Beast charm again, and turned him back into a werewolf - I did not realise he could leave the lot dressed like that!

I thought it was really cool.

It also meant I could have a vampires vs werewolves duel!

Poor Vicki. She is my favourite duel partner for Tuxedo at the moment.

He also got better at giving shows.

Also he changed into that outfit for the show, and back into his werewolf get up afterwards. I think it would've been neat if he could've kept the werewolf head whilst delivering the show but ah well.

Tuxedo also got a nectar press.

This is because you can trade elderberry wine with Apothecary Todd for a rubber chicken, and a rubber chicken can be used in a very useful spell we'll be casting later.

In the meantime, I still need clown confetti for the Big Question spell.

It is taking a while. Apothecary Todd went through a phase of challenging Tux to Toadstool Races, which is annoying because Todd runs while Tuxedo walks slowly around the lot.

Also, this.

"Dispersing clouds is no fun at all!"

I hear you, buddy.

Right, back to the rubber chicken thing - it goes into this charm here. The Rain of Riches charm!

Tuxedo is pretty much dirt broke and the bills just keep arriving. This charm makes cash literally fall from the sky.

This wasn't even all of it, I ended up missing like four piles.

It gave Tux's bank balance a nice boost :D It's probably way more hassle than getting a job, but even so.

"Mara, please give me wizards eyelashes so I can go marry my girlfriend."

"You said you wanted glacial glass, right?"

Also, that guy in the middle has no sense of personal space. Eventually, Tuxedo did get the ingredient he needed, thank god.

So the following day, Eloisa was invited over nice and early.

She didn't suspect a thing, and apparently just wanted to gossip about one of the stray dogs.

BAM! Love and Marriage.

I didn't realise weddings cost money? Maybe that's why the spell backfired earlier. Also what a rip off, a thousand simoleans for a lawn wedding.

Eloisa Townie becomes Eloisa Jones. She has a personality of 1/8/0/7/7 and is a Libra. She brought in enough money that the two of them can now afford Bonehilda, thank god - these two have barely any neat points between them.

Also Eloisa had a job! She's a lounge singer!

So she's taking care of the bills, too. Hooray for Eloisa!

Bonehilda, you have no idea how happy I am to see you.

Please save the Jones family from their own filth.

Domestic bliss achieved, Tuxedo has taken up a new hobby for the time being - gnome crafting.

Not that he'll have time for a hobby much longer...

Generation Two is here!

Say hello to Tuxedo's son and heir, Pickle Jones!

And that's all I have for this time! Hopefully I'll have more for you soon :)
