I've been playing this family a lot and I'm ahead in real life, so have some more!

Last time, we met my founder, Tuxedo Jones, and followed him through his magical quest of gaining a wife. He eventually managed to get Eloisa Townie to marry him, and at the end of the last chapter they welcomed their son and heir, Pickle.

And here they all are!

Eloisa never gets out of bed anymore without complaining about it. That's parenting for you, I guess. Maybe.

It just wouldn't be the Sims 1 without a fire in every update.

They have a smoke alarm but I still hate the fires - sims 1 sims flock to them and are very good at getting too close.

Also thank goodness for Bonehilda; none of this would have been possible without her.

Sims 1 babies are so needy! And I got the pop-up warning that if baby is neglected they'll come and take it!

"Ew, treasure."

Yeah, that's definitely a normal reaction to a huge pile of money.

I must have missed that pile when I cast the Rain of Riches charm in the last chapter somehow.

Parenting is going so well, guys.

Thank goodness for that - Pickle is a child now! Are those balloons, do you think?

Their appearances are randomly generated - are you ready to see what lil Pickle looks like?

He grew up with a lil wizard hat! He's perfect!

Pickle has a personality of 4/8/4/10/6, which makes him a Taurus.

Time for a family trip to Magic Town - Pickle needs a wand!

Unrelated note: I love the balloon.

That wizard hat is still getting me.

Perfect little child.

The minute the balloon sets down, Tuxedo makes a run for the roller coaster, which amused me.

Meanwhile, Pickle and I need to locate the Mystery Man.

Of course he's standing on the edge of the lot, next to the grey abyss.

Mission accomplished, Pickle is a magical kid now. He'll need to wand to cast the charm that ages him up in the future. Plus he has a wizard hat, there's no way this kid was going to be a normie.

"I know he only grew up this morning, but I need Dragon Scales for my son's next birthday."

I'm just being prepared. We're not growing Pickle up for a little while yet - he has to have an A- or the charm will backfire, and he's currently on a B or B-. Plus it would just feeling like cheating to grow him up immediately.

It's every father's dream for his son to cheer him on at duels, right?

So what does Eloisa get up to while Tuxedo is earning magical cash?

She finds a bench, and literally stays there til it's home time. I don't think I saw her move. Probably just as well I didn't pay her any attention.

Pickle, meanwhile, starts harassing other sims with jokes.

Think it might be time for the family to go home.

Go home and play with the faeries!

This is the only way to get faerie dust, I think. Which is fine, because it drops the ingredient fairly often.

I feel like Eloisa is in a constant bad mood, and I'm trying but it's just never enough for her.

:(

Here's a fun thing I either didn't know or had forgotten - kids can show off in this game, too! Like they do in the later games!

It was a really neat thing to see. There's so much Sims 1 stuff I've forgotten over the years.

Wearing the lil hat in the bath tub cracks me up.

Having a sim sit on that stool occasionally makes toadstools appear, which is very useful.

But also, I just really liked this shot for some reason.

He yawned and put his arm around her - something else I didn't realise they could do in Sims 1!

Tuxedo is so smooth.

I got the "should we have a baby" pop up again sometime around this point, but had to say no - we need all the sim slots for heirs and spouses!

It's not all magic, see? Sometimes there's skilling.

Totally normal childhood. :)

The following day, Pickle created his first charm. Not the Age of Instant, not yet, but the Beauty or Beast Jr charm!

I can't remember casting in the past, but I'm sure I must have done at some point.

It meant Pickle was a skeleton for a few hours - which I love!

I can't remember if skeleton is an option for adults, I'll have to check at some point.

What are you doing that means you need to be censored right now?! You're cooking?!

Eloisa and Bonehilda stood like this for hours, and it's the only door in and out of the house.

Even after I had Eloisa go back inside, Bonehilda was glitched and frozen. I had to delete her and buy a new one unfortunately.

I want to move the family to Magic Town at some point - I'd like to have a climbable beanstalk before the end of the challenge I think - but gathering that many Magi coins takes so much effort!

At least when Pickle grows up, he'll be able to contribute too.

Look who's paying us a late night visit - Claire the Bear!

I'd pretty much forgotten about her, so this is fun.

I expected her to go through the bin - but instead she's stealing honey straight from the hive!

I didn't know this was a thing!

She ended up running away from bees for a good while afterwards.

Not that Tuxedo even noticed, he's so engrossed in that gnome.

Well, Pickle's grades are now high enough to age him - four days after he grew up - but let's have some quality family time first!

"I spy a customer!"

Tuxedo and his family are going to spend a few days camping in an igloo!

Betty the Yeti never creeped me out when I was a child, but nowadays I find her very unsettling.

And maybe Pickle's with me on this, because he's not paying her the slightest bit of attention.

There's something about the quiet and the campfires that's very calming, for both me and Tuxedo.

I had no idea you could get this many people round a campfire!

Or that they could just pull out a guitar and start a sing-song! The Sims 1 is great! :D

Pickle did not want to take part in the singalong.

What an odd little kid <3

The following morning, Eloisa buys a snowman kit - of her own freewill, which was cool.

Betty watching them play was a lot less cool. Very unsettling yeti!

It was also super cute that she picked Pickle up to do the snowman's face!

How heartwarming <3

They moved to a different snowy lot later that day, which meant carnival games!

Pickle was weirdly good at a different game where you throw chickens into buckets, and came away with a doll he'd bought with his tickets.

Tuxedo was pretty good at snowboarding - he didn't slip and fall at any point!

I wonder if there's a reason for that? He has no body skill to speak of.

I'd also forgotten they could go on picnics so this was really cute <3

Basically, I had the best time with these guys on vacation. I probably enjoyed it more than they did.

Still, it's time to get back.

Time to grow Pickle up, I think.

You can also see the creepy doll he won whilst on holiday in this shot. Weird little thing.

As I was preparing to age Pickle up, this guy just came by, was greeted by Tuxedo and then proceeded to kick and explode one of my gnomes!

I have enough problems with Eloisa exploding gnomes without random walk-bys doing it too.

Anyway, back to Pickle.

Let's see what randomly generated adult he turns into!

What the heck?!

Okay, we'll roll with that. Pickle grew into a racing helmet of some kind. I have no idea.

That's all I have for the moment, hopefully I'll be able to share some more soon!!
