Can you believe it? We're here, at the end! But don't worry, we have around 60 screenshots to get through before everything is said and done!

Last time, the family adopted a little purple dragon named Torch. Boots liked his pink poodle Amy so much he cast a spell to turn her human, and then fell in love with her. Sheldon went for a swim in a ladderless pool to make room for the fifth and final generation. Boots and Amy had a son named Ben, whose babyhood was overshadowed by Torch starting fires every five minutes - the fires ended up leading to Amy's unexpected death. Ben grew into a kid, cast some spells, ran around looking like a skeleton - you know, normal childhood stuff. At the end of the update, the fires were becoming too much to deal with and Torch was set free.

We rejoin the family to find them enjoying a totally ordinary evening. Ghosts and bears? Totally normal.

This was followed by a totally ordinary morning of fully-clothed donkey-headed hot tubbing.

The Jones family is totally normal, don't let anyone convince you otherwise :D

Now let's all pray this beanstalk grows to be tall enough to climb! I'd really like to steal some beans before this challenge ends.

That night, the family decides to take a trip to Old Town. Don't they look thrilled to be there?

Looks like Ben is having a whale of a time!

The main purpose of the visit was to get another dog. With the loss of Amy and Torch in one update, plus the parrot, I figured it was time the family got a new pet. This dog is named Lucy.

And no, Boots won't be making her human and marrying her this time.

Not much happens while we wait for the beanstalk to grow. Just relaxing and taking care of the garden, which sounds like a very nice, peaceful life, if I'm honest.

I know I've said it lots of times, but I love that skeleton skin! There isn't anything like it for the adults.

I'm 90% sure it has stopped growing, which is a tiny bit devastating.

Beanstalks grow to a pre-determined height. Time to cast some more spells and get a new one.

Boots taking a nap in the corner is totally ruining Hugh's bath time. Nevermind the donkey-headed Wally O'Wisp cleaning the toilet.

Since the Wallys haven't despawned, I thought they were just hanging about not doing anything, but it turns out they do still clean, which is good. They don't clean everything, but every little helps.

Someone on Tumblr mentioned I should try enchanting the scarecrow - something I didn't know was possible! So this is the result! He looks a lot scarier now, but he stays in place, so it's a little different to the gnome and the flamingo.

If you click on the family funds in TS1, a box pops up to tell you all sorts of info about the household finances. It also tells you how many days it has been since the family moved in.

It's day 70 when I decide to let Ben become an adult. But don't worry, we're not ending the update here - I want to get to day 100, I read somewhere that there's a pop up or something for 100 days.

And, you know, I wanna climb the beanstalk.

Ben grew into a mullet? And farmer clothes? But it could have been way worse, so I'm fine with this.

And then he headed out to the garden to relax. Because when you've got at least another 30 days of challenge left, what do you do with that time?

Well, time for 30 days of nonsense, right?

I saw a screenshot of someone using this cake on tumblr - I didn't know it gave them party hats! Also I love that Pickle gets one too, even though he currently has a donkey head!

The cake doesn't actually do anything, but it was fun all the same.

Well, it's not a party without cake dancers, is it?

The female dancer took a shine to Boots. He seemed pretty into it.

Taking care of this many sims is hard guys.

A new ability crystal turned up - another one I've never used!

Basically, hotfoot lets you 'entertain' sims by setting their feet alight with magical, non-harmful fire.

And despite the fact her grandfather just set her on fire, Peanut thought it was great and gained relationship with him.

And the 30 days of nonsense continues with a new addition to the yard - a dance floor and a dance cage!

It honestly provides endless entertainment, 10/10 would recommend.

The family have also been casting the Beauty or Beast charm as lot, as you can get the ingredients (beeswax three times) on the home lot really easily. It's a really quick and easy way to bump up the spell count, and it leads to endless fun.

Like watching the headless horseman eat dinner. He's literally putting food into the empty space where his head should be.

Do you think Lucy trusts a man with no head??

So yeah, in short, I had way too much fun with the headless skin.

The family also got a clothing trunk, which allows them all to change into costumes and other random clothing types.

I think the costumes option cracks me up the most.

You all wanted to see Tux dressed as a caveman right?

You all have cooking points now, this shouldn't still be happening!

Thank goodness for fire alarms!

Another ability crystal has appeared!

It's really exciting because I've got hardly any experience with them. The only one I've ever used really is the pink teleport one.

This new crystal lets you entertain sims by levitating, and honestly? I love it.

Later that night I found Peanut (dressed as a wolf) dancing in the yard with Tuxedo (dressed as a warlock or something).

This unsettles me a little bit as it's generally something my romantic couples do, so I thought I'd check her relationship panel...

Turns out, Peanut is in love with both her husband Hugh, but also her Dad, Pickles. Which is terrible.

I guess there's no way to flag up who is family in this game. D: So yeah, that's not fun.

Let's distract ourselves from that with something that is fun - supernatural dance party!

We finally got new beanstalks - two in one go!

Please let one of these be tall enough!

I don't think the donkey head will ever fail to amuse me!

Look, even the ghosts get donkey heads - that's something I didn't know before!

Did you know alien abduction is possible in TS1?

It's something I've only managed once before, but I figured while we're waiting on the beanstalks, and for day 100, I may as well try and get a sim abducted! Boots is more than happy to spend all of his time with the telescope.

Nothing brings family together quite like a fire!

Apart from Pickle, apparently. No idea where he was hiding at the time.

Despite the fact Boots is pretty much glued to the telescope, Tuxedo is the one the aliens decide to abduct.

I was beginning to think it wasn't going to happen.

Even the Wallys are concerned about the abduction!

Tux was returned a few hours later, and that was that. There's no alien babies in this version of the Sims. The household is full at the moment anyway.

The latest addition to the 30 Days of Nonsense: the bubble blower.

And having them all magic into the same skin via the Beauty or Beast charm. It's really entertaining watching four people who all look identical for some reason?

Another day, another new ability crystal - the little blue one!

This one gives you an ability called Hand Buzzer...

No one on the lot liked it that much.

The same skin nonsense continues. I get far too much joy from it.

That's also Peanut kissing Pickle, which is really quite disturbing.

Another beanstalk has appeared.

Please, please let this be the one!

Peanut please. That's your son.

Ladies and gentlemen, we've reached Day 100!

This doesn't include any of the days spent in their house back in the regular neighbourhood. I really should've checked how long they were there before they moved, so I could give you the total number of days. My bad.

Also my reward for 100 days of gameplay? Each day I get a little Did You Know pop up in the corner of the screen about members of the staff that put this game together, which is pretty neat.

Honestly, I have no idea how Peanut hasn't fallen out completely with her husband yet.

Is that crystal pink or purple? Because I've always said it was pink but I'm beginning to doubt myself.

Either way, it grants sims the ability to teleport, and it's the crystal I'm most excited about.

Each time you teleport counts towards the spell count, which is great if you're still trying to get magical rewards.

Too bad for us we have most of them now! But it's still easier than making the Beauty or Beast charm constantly.

And because it's so easy to rack up spells now, it wasn't long before we got the final ability crystal.

This one is called 'Magic Trick'.

It gives sims the ability to pull a coin from behind the ear of another sim.

It's a pretty tame ability, really.

So Boots got abducted. Wouldn't happen when I was trying, but happened when I wasn't really paying that much attention.

That's the Sims for you!

At this point, I decided to put all the beanstalks in a line, so I could definitely see what was still growing and what had stopped.

I think it looks pretty neat!

Boots, again, really?

Eight chapters with no abductions, and then suddenly three in the finale!

Sometimes I'm reminded how ridiculous this game is, and how much I love that ridiculousness! I am going to miss this family and their bizarre antics <3

I've got sims teleporting multiple times a day, and plenty of magical items turning up.

Please tell me we're close to a climbable beanstalk.

Really, again?!

That's the fourth time now! I thought it was supposed to be a 'rare event'?

We must be close to a climbable beanstalk, we haven't had a new one turn up on the lot in ages.

Instead, we've got tons of crystals and solar flowers. Things are looking up...!

The morning after I realised we hadn't had a new beanstalk in a while, one finally outgrew all the others in the yard.

It's time, guys.

It's Day 111, and we're finally going to climb the beanstalk.

I chose Tuxedo to head to the top, seeing as he founded this entire thing.

Finally. The weirdest secret lot in the entire Sims franchise!

It's just so surreal.

Well, we can't come up here and not steal any beans, that's just madness.

No, thank you, Will Wright, this has been so much fun!

And thank you guys for coming along for the ride - five whole 'generations' played with the Sims 1! It has been a lot of fun, and I'm so glad I was able to share the nostalgia with you all.

As for Ben and his family? Well. Who knows what the future holds. But I may have remade Ben in TS4 and played some of his future out there...

In the meantime, thanks for stopping by, and see you all again soon!
