The Hatter Name Game: Chapter 7

Let's have some more name game fun, shall we? I'm almost ready for my generation 3 heir to takeover in game, so I've got some catching up to do!

Last time, we watched the generation begin to grow up. They worked hard for their school grades, attempted to complete their aspirations, and started growing into teenagers. There was also a family trip to the beach, and the generation two heir was announced - it's Cher :)

We rejoin the family at homework 'o clock.

And also just as Cher and Edward decide to be BFFs. It's for Ed's aspiration, but I really doubt I'm going to complete it.






Nothing else happened that evening, so let's cut to the following day.

Apparently Cher wasn't at school like everyone else, although I can't remember why, so she accompanied Alice to the Geek Con. Where else do you go for a mother-daughter day?






While Alice spent most of her time playing video games, Cher got to know some of the cosplayers.

She spent most of her time hanging out with L Faba, one of the sages from the Realm of Magic. Not that you can tell, her face is covered by the costume.




Cher must have made a good impression, though, because L Faba invited her out to the park later that day.




"So is the realm of magic up there? In the stars?"




"It sort of exists outside of our reality, rather than in space."

"Oh."

"But it is kind of over there, I suppose. It's everywhere and nowhere, all at once."




Back at the house, J is trying his hand at chess, which cracks me up for some reason.




Anyway, it's time for another birthday.

And because Cher wants to buff up her skills, she's nominated to make the cake.




Can you believe it, Abi is about to become a young adult!

Where on earth did that time go?




Abi's final trait is Active, like her Dad <3

She also gained the Responsible trait, and is apparently a Mommy's Girl. She's moving into a little house in Newcrest that I found on the gallery, and will eventually be joined by the rest of the spares. I'm not playing them, so they'll turn up in the background from time to time.




Izabel's first appearance in this update, and she's upsetting a child.

"Calm down, Ed, I'll fix it. Sheesh."




Midsummer has arrived once again, and once again it is tipping it down.

So what do you do on a day like this?




You stay inside and perform your comedy routines, of course!

"What's the deal with airplane food? I mean, seriously!"

Even though Alice is at the top of her career in comedy, I think it'd be nice if she actually maxed out her comedy skill. The chance card that skyrocketed her to the top feels a tiny bit like cheating!




Abi only moved out that morning, but she's already back and letting herself in.

To cheer on her mother's comedy, of course <3




School ends and the kids come home, but Cher's not about for long - she's got a job in fast food! Izabel also has a job in the evenings, she works in retail.

Lyndon works as a barista in the mornings, so he has to get up extra early.




Once Cher makes it back from her job, at about 10 or 11 at night, she decided to head out for a walk.

Her parents haven't set a curfew, so Cher is free to go where she likes...




Other kids might want to use this freedom to party, or meet a partner, but Cher's curious. Cher wants to know things.

Cher wants to know more about magic.




Of course, she is still a teenager, and wants to duck pout to mark the occasion.

Surely you'd want the giant glowing archway in the background? No? Okay.




"Well, here goes nothing."




Cher's initial reaction to the Realm of Magic? Unimpressed.

"Seriously? That girl calls herself a spellcaster? She can't even ride a broom!"

Chill, kid, it's harder than it looks!




It's not long before Cher bumps into Morgyn Ember.

"Well, there's a lot of cool stuff here, I'm in."

"I'm sorry, what?"

"I'll be a spellcaster. Go on, turn me, or whatever."




"I don't think so," Morgyn said, with a smile, "Not until you bring me a pile of glowing orbs."

"What do they do?"

"Beats me."

"So why do you want them?"

"Just do it."






So Cher collects the orbs even though it's not clear why Morgyn would want them.

This barely counts as magic but she's still impressed with herself.




"Well I did it! Here are your orbs."

"Gee thanks. What am I going to do with these."

"I don't know. I don't care! Make me magic!"

"If I make you a spellcaster, will you leave me alone?"

"I guarantee it!"






"Well, there you go. You're magic now. Have fun, kid."




Cher kept to her word and left Morgyn alone after that. Instead, she decided to bother other people in the realm.

"I'm sorry for judging your broom skills earlier."

"You were judging me?"

"Nice talking to you."




And then she bumped into L Faba.

"Hey! I haven't seen you since...this morning? What time is it here?"

"Time does not exist here."

"I don't believe that. Anyway! I'm magic now! How great is that?"




Way to impress a sage, Cher.

Anyway, she chatted to L Faba for a bit, bought a wand and a familiar, and then headed home.




"Hey guys, check out my new floating frog! His name is Wartz!"




"Okay, why is their a levitating frog in my house? Which one of you brought home a weird frog?"




It's a bright and beautiful summer day!

The kids are all at school and don't get to enjoy it, however Alice and J are home. So what are they up to?




Sleeping through it, of course!

Just typical, really. Like how I always seem to be at work on the best days of the summer.




The slip 'n' slide is up and ready for the kids when they get home, though. Still time for a little summer fun!




It's not fun for everyone, though, it seems.




That evening, Alice decides to go dancing with the kids. Just because, really.

And I can't remember why Izabel didn't go. Maybe her needs were too low, or she was at work.




Is there anything better than a group dance?




Later on in the evening, Cher spots a familiar face.

"What are you doing here?"

"You think sages can't go dancing?"

"No..."




I guess sages don't go out dancing, they go out to duel.




"You're in over your head, Cher, duelling a sage."

"You don't know unless you try!"




Of course, new newbie can beat a sage. But what really cracks me up, is how Alice returned from the bathroom just in time to see Cher get thrown to the floor.

And also the oblivious smile on Alice's face!




"I let L Faba win, to save her reputation. Right Wartz?"

*croak*




After all the excitement, Alice decided it was time for a more normal activity.

"Cher, what happened there? With that lady with the purple hair?"

"She's a spellcaster...and so am I now. We were just duelling. It's okay, Mum."

"Duelling?"

"Just a spellcaster thing, honestly. Not dangerous! At least, I don't think it is."




"I know nothing about spellcasters, Cher, but I'm here if you need me, okay?"

"Okay, Mum."




Back home, it's time to for yet another birthday!

Edward is finally going to be a teenager.




He's a copy of his father, only blonde! We've had quite an interesting mix of genes this generation, don't you think?

Edward gained the Slob trait, like his older sister Cher. His aspiration is Leader of the Pack, which gives him the Gregarious trait.




Alright, one last thing before we go, as she hasn't been in this update much: Where do you think Izabel is running to?




I wasn't able to get a picture of it, but she ran all that way to scare some birds!
