Culpepper Pals: Winter 2: McMullen

And just like that, we're back at the beginning again!

Last time, the season began fairly normally - with several parties, of course. One was rained off at the Bluffs, one was a costume party...you get the idea. Jo and Mackenzie decided to adopt a second cat as company for Snickers, and so Shadow joined the family. Unfortunately, Snickers passed away from old age that night, leaving the couple heartbroken. As they had prepared for two cats, Jo and Mackenzie decided to adopt another, and Rosie joined the family. Snickers is still very much missed.

We're back in the city just in time for the first appearance of snow! And to celebrate the occasion, Jo is dressed as a pirate.

Yeah, I have no idea either.






Once out of her costume, Jo decided to spend some 'quality time' with Mackenzie...only neither of them wanted to woohoo with the cats in the room? I don't think I've ever noticed them having a problem with it before!






Shadow and Rosie took the hint that they should leave, and when they're allowed to return Shadow immediately starts scratching up the bookcase, like she's trying to prove a point.

After that, Jo left for work while Mackenzie had a rare day off to herself.

So how should she spend that time?






Blowing bubbles at the flea market, of course.

I think I get the least amount of use out of the flea market. Unless you've got collectables to sell, it's not that interesting. Only sims who live in the area ever go to the flea market.




Mackenzie then started jamming on her guitar, only to be immediately upstaged by Thorne Bailey.




She was not pleased.

But I feel like that's how most sims feel about Thorne Bailey.




Back in the apartment, it looks like Shadow is judging Rosie for chasing her own tail.






The following morning, and things are bright but cold.

How do you start off a Monday?




Playing in the hall with your llamacorn, of course!

Jo and Mackenzie's morning was a little less fun...




Mackenzie was at work, while Jo was at home dealing with the fact Shadow randomly ran away.

I have no idea why Shadow left.




Jo is super bummed out about it, though. As we all would be, if our pets were missing.






Maybe protesting with Miko Ojo will cheer her up.

Admittedly they're protesting about different things, but it's the thought that counts, right?




By the time Jo is done spreading awareness, Shadow has returned and all is right in the world again.




The whole saga happened while Mackenzie was at work, but she's happy to see the cats all the same.

...should we talk about the fact the car in the background is floating??




Tuesday morning. Mackenzie is working, but Jo is off and has plans!

So where are we off to?




Geekcon, with the whole Culpepper gang!

While Jo isn't necessarily a geek, it was a good excuse to get them all together.




Venus and Elsie immediately started dancing - and apparently Venus has dressed as a spellcaster for the occasion.




Dusty cycled in wearing cosplay but no glasses - jump out of the way if she's cycling in your direction!




It looks Adora has decided to get a part time job in repairs? I don't know.




Kirby's cosplay is also a mystery, but the fact she's popping and locking in the food court cracked me up. It's just so Kirby.




The only one of the gang Jo really managed to catch up with was Norah, who is probably freezing cold dressed in her normal clothes. It's probably why Norah didn't stay very long.




Oh, and I think Salim wins the costume contest, don't you?




Back home, it's time to bake a cake.

Definitely hygienic doing it next to your cat, of course.




It's party time!

And Father Winter has brought a toddler's toy with him??




There's actually a reason behind this party - it's Jo's birthday!

Considering I put them all in the save at the same time, and played them all for equal lengths of time, Jo is somehow the only one growing into an elder this season (I think). Which is pretty bizarre? I just decided to roll with it, maybe Jo is a tiny bit older than her friends?




She may have silver hair now, but she still knows how to party!

Speaking of party antics:




There was a gathering in the bathroom, of people complaining that Rosie splashed water on their feet.




Travis is apparently a Dusty fan, and scored a hug with her.




Norah apparently decided to bust out her alien skills, which she's never used before, which seemed to annoy Jo.




I just love the chaos at these parties <3




The birthday party ended on gold, which makes me happy. And it was the perfect way to celebrate her birthday, which means Jo is happy.

She's really close to completing her aspiration!




Another day arrives, and this time brings Rosie riding on a roomba.




It also brings Shadow patiently waiting for Mackenzie to drop some of the food she's preparing.




Mackenzie heads to work, while Jo stays home and decides it's time to retire.

She was a Charity Organiser (level 7) by this point. I also gave Jo a couple of extra reward traits - Seldom Sleepy and Speed Cleaner.




Apparently not much else happened during the day.

Still, Jo had some pretty big plans for the evening...






Another big party!

I really wanted to knock Jo's aspiration out this season, so it's going to be party central for a couple of nights. Apparently this one was less exciting than the last one, because I took less screenshots of it.




I think Shadow enjoyed eating the leftover food, though!




The following day, Mackenzie took some time off work and the couple went on a date to the park. A date is considered a social event and counts towards Jo's aspiration.

Plus it was nice for them to have the time together. The way the seasons fall this time means Jo and Mackenzie don't get Winterfest or New Years.






There was just enough time for a little bit of ice skating before the snowfall turned into a full on blizzard and they both had to head inside.




Despite the blizzard, the date ended on gold while they were helping themselves to hot drinks inside.




Back at the apartment, it's party time again.




This one is a lot tamer than usual for some reason.




Tea and milk at the same time? You mad man.

The party didn't apparently count towards Jo's aspiration - she only needed one more social event - so both Jo and Mackenzie downed some coffee...




...and went out on another date!

This time to the karaoke place in the Fashion District. I have no idea why there's snow on the ground inside, I checked the whole building and couldn't work it out.






This date ended on silver I think, but more importantly, it counted for Jo's aspiration!!




This means Jo completed her aspiration! Finally!

She now has the Perfect Host reward trait. And it seemed like the perfect opportunity to add to her collection of reward traits, so she's also Incredibly Friendly now, too.






The following day was incredibly snowy, which looked pretty great but was terrible if you wanted to go anywhere.




It's perfect weather for staying home with your cats, which is all Jo really had planned.




That and a nap.




Although Mackenzie got up from the nap to get abducted by aliens, which I totally missed because I was looking at my phone while the game was on speed 3.

That'll teach me.




I did a little bit of people watching while waiting for Mackenzie to come back, but didn't see much - just Kirby passing by, dressed like this.

Not exactly weather appropriate, but you do you, Kirby.




Jo was awake by the time the aliens brought Mackenzie back, and the two of them decided to build a snowpal.

I mean, what else do you do at 4am??




Morning arrives, and Jo sets about doing some cooking.

Rosie is obviously helping, and not hindering in anyway.




It's Mackenzie's birthday! Unlike Jo, she's having a quiet birthday.

And cake for breakfast, who wouldn't want that?




Jo also fires a confetti canon through Mackenzie's face, what better way is there to celebrate your birthday?




Mackenzie makes a cute old lady <3




Apparently birthdays are too exciting, Mackenzie immediately took a nap.




When she woke up, she retired from her job as a Stem Researcher (level 6).




And that's where winter ended for these two! A pretty productive season of parties and birthdays!
