Culpepper Pals: Summer 3: Brows

I have been so busy with work lately, it's insane. I haven't really had time to sit down and write updates, although I've been playing a little bit and I'm just about to start playing autumn, so I really need to get a move on with these updates!!
Last time, the Brows family began the new year with a new kitten (Bruno) and a birthday – Tori became a teenager. Spring was mostly a quiet season for the family, spent hanging out with friends and family. Dusty took Summer on a couple of dates, and the whole family spent the weekend at the beach together.

We're back in the city!
It's weird thinking about how everyone started out here, and now most of my families have left the city and live elsewhere. In fact, I did consider moving these guys this season but I eventually decided against it. More on that later.

We're joining Dusty and Summer for breakfast. It's french toast, I hope you like cinnamon.

After breakfast, Dusty heads out to tidy up the mural. With an adoring crowd, of course. Dusty can't do anything without a crowd.

She also took a moment to greet a few of her fans.
I hope my simself treasures that photo forever.

So while Dusty parades around the Arts Quarter, Tori sneaks up to the Bluffs to meet up with Tania.
Dolly and Marnie already grew into young adults, so they got kicked out of the Culpepper teens club. I miss having all four girls hanging out, but they will again soon enough.

I love how Tori still has the option to dive to impress the group when her audience is one (1) person.
Well, and us, I guess, but we don't really count.

The actual dive was very unimpressive.
"Tori? Are you okay? Did you live?"

"I'm fine, I'm fine! I totally meant to hit the water like that. It didn't hurt at all!"
"Are you sure because it sounded pretty-"
"Yes! Totally intentional!"

Aaaaaand now she's swimming in the ground.
"Are you feeling alright, Tori?"
"Yes, yes! This is just how celebrities swim. Honestly."

I love the Sims 4.
Anyway, with Tori glitched into the ground, I figured it was a pretty good time to head home.

Marnie and Dolly were both waiting when Tori got back - they both have keys and just come by whenever they feel like it.
Tori is very happy to see them both.
"Wait til you hear about my fantastic dive at the Bluffs!"

While Tori was socialising, I noticed Summer was still sporting her tan from the last season. Hmmm.
It did eventually go away, but I'm still not sure why it lasted so long.
Summer also got the Gym Rat reward trait this season.

Tori, meanwhile, got the Night Owl reward trait, seeing as she's always up late. She now skills faster at night.
Not that this helped her guitar playing much, she still sounds terrible.

In the early hours of Monday morning, Dusty got up to pee, and...well.
I knew it was coming, but it still sucks.

"...Dusty?"

"Mr Reaper, Death, pleeeease. Our daughter isn't even an adult yet, please give Dusty more time with us!"
I'M SORRY, MY HANDS ARE TIED HERE.
"Have you no heart?"
TECHNICALLY, NO.

Nothing will ever be the same again for this little family.

Goodbye Dusty <3

:(

Later that day, Kirby invited Summer out for lunch, which I thought was really sweet.
I've also started referring to this corner of Newcrest as the "Restaurant District", as all of the restaurants are here. I really should pop some down in other worlds.

"Dusty and I went on one of our first dates here."
"Goodness, I'm so sorry. I didn't realise-"
"Kirby, it's fine. Thank you for inviting me out."

They both looked a lot brighter when the food arrived. Kirby can't even eat that, she has the vampire weakness that makes her ill when she eats.
Still, I like that she's supporting her friend <3

Summer was still miserable when she left the restaurant though. There isn't much I can do about it.

Tori isn't faring much better, to be honest.

It's 1am, but instead of sleeping, Summer is sat up just staring into space.
She's breaking my heart :(

Tuesday morning is gloomy, like both Summer and Tori.
And for some reason, Tori's not at school. Maybe I decided not to send her, I can't remember. Anyway, she's off to the gym, and Summer is tagging along.

Fitness will be a useful skill for Tori to have later on, plus exercise is good for your mental health, right?

I also finally added a sauna to the gym, and sent Summer there to relax.

She's not one for sitting still, though. She was barely even in the sauna before getting up.

David, why are you always here? And never exercising?
I swear he just comes here for a chat.

Back at the house...Summer's doing football tricks with an invisible ball.
"Mrs Holiday...are you okay?"

Dolly and Marnie invited themselves over again. I also love that they're totally comfortable with helping themselves to the family's fridge.

Summer seems quite gloomy this rotation. Which I guess works for what's going on here.
Anyway, it's Wednesday, and Summer and Tori are beginning to feel a little bit better.

While Tori was at school, Summer spent the entire day with Bruno.
Hopefully the extra attention means he won't try running away again this season.

It was a pretty slow day overall.

There's always a visitor!
I like to think Summer enjoys the company. But still, I figured I'd send the girls out so Summer can have an evening to herself:

The girls are going dancing!

Tori also befriended the older brothers of her friends, seeing as they're always in the background at this club for some reason.

The early hours of Thursday morning, and Tori's birthday. And look who decided to put in an appearance - Ghost Dusty!
I was really touched that she decided to come out on Tori's birthday. Like she didn't want to miss it <3

Perfect <3

Tori's not moving out, so here's a recap of all her traits, including her new one:
Tori Holiday
Master Actress - Muser
Outgoing - Clumsy - Genius
Happy Toddler - Socially Gifted - Incredibly Friendly - Night Owl - Responsible
Of course, she's already got a drone to work on that fame. She's currently at one star.

While Tori was working on her guitar skill, Summer was spending quality time with Dusty.
She asked Dusty to be her girlfriend. I find that weird considering they were married when Dusty died two days ago, but whatever.

...well, why not?

Tori spent the morning out in Del Sol Valley. She's already got an audition lined up, but I figured there was no harm in trying to work on her fame at the same time.
I did consider moving Summer and Tori out to Del Sol Valley, but in the end decided against it. The Penthouse still feels like home for them.

I don't know if her fame level went up much, but Venessa Jeong took a liking to her.

Tori spent the afternoon practising acting in front of the mirror.
At some point this summer she ended up with vain fame quirk because of all of the mirrors.

Friday morning, and Tori's performing in the street.
It's a musical scene, for her aspiration.

I'm guessing Tori spent the day skilling or something, because there aren't any more pictures until she meets Venessa out in Windenburg that night.
Venessa invited her out. Clearly Tori had made an impression.

Yep, Tori has definitely made an impression on Venessa!
Also please note Max Vatore in the background AGAIN. I swear he's always here.

Overall the night went really well, and ended with Tori and Venessa becoming girlfriends.

It's Saturday morning, and Tori has a busy day ahead - it's time for her first acting gig!

Apparently it's an advert for country music? I think? I'm not sure.
Usually my sims start off dressed as pirates selling parrot detergent.

That evening, the Romance festival was taking place in the Fashion District. Traditionally, Dusty and Summer would have gone together but...things are different now.
Tori has gone to this one alone. I'm not sure why Venessa wasn't with her.

She just dropped the glass in the punch bowl! Must be that Clumsy trait she has!

No better place to perform in the street other than a festival, right?

Oh look, another celebrity to steal your limelight!
Thorne Bailey is good at that.

Somehow her introduction worked?!

Did Tori just manage to befriend the man no one really likes?

Back at the house, we're squeezing in one last birthday before the season ends.

Summer makes an adorable old lady <3
And that's where the summer ended for these two!

Things are definitely different for them both now! Who knows what the upcoming seasons hold for these two? All I know is from next rotation onwards they'll be the Holiday family - there's no one here with the Brows surname anymore!
Anyway!
See you all again soon, when we visit the Bells!
