Back to Basics
Jun. 5th, 2012 02:00 pmSo yesterday, me and Rob reinstalled the Sims 1 onto my laptop, and played for a little while. Unsurprisingly, chaos ensued - it seems we had both forgotten just how crazy the first sims was.
Naturally, I have a few screencaps. Btw, they're all different sizes because I cropped them to show what I wanted. It kind of bugs me that there's just no decent way to take pictures in the Sims 1.

So Rob and I made ourselves in the game, got ourselves a nice little house, and then filled it with random junk that we decided we wanted. Our priorities were a little odd - we decided we wanted a genie lamp and completely forgot about the bathroom until it was almost too late.
But it lead to some amusing times. Rob kept drinking the potions off the chemistry set and causing chaos.

Nothing screams romance like a bathroom and a stranger, does it? :) I have absolutely no idea who that woman is, either.
Oh, and that yellow lump at the bottom of the picture is our pet dragon - Rob decided the couple needed a dragon. I have all the Sims 1 packs, so it was fun being able to mess about with Magic again. I do miss Makin' Magic.

Warning, kids, hugging produces children. Our sims ended up with a baby girl, which I named Grace. Because I do really like that name.
They can't take care of themselves, let alone a baby, but ah well.

Of course, the child is going to be extremely messed up - Sim!Rob and Sim!Sam left Bonehilda to raise their baby. And Bonehilda did a good job, I just suspect the baby might have nightmares for the rest of time.

This is why I didn't want a dragon. It promptly set fire to all the trees and then left. Which amused Rob and left me trying to keep our sims away from the flames.

Unsuccessfully, of course. I had to save Sim!Rob from the Reaper twice. I'd also forgotten how creepy the Sims 1 Reaper was.

Rob thinks Sim!Sam has a bit of a love for gnomes. Personally, I quite like decorating the front lawn with them, Rob doesn't like them at all and wants to sell them. He'll have to deal with it, I refuse to sell the gnomes. xD
After Rob left, I saved our sims and decided to have a go at recreating some Wrongways...

Left to Right: Liam, Maddie, Grace, Jim, Lavender & Romeo
Five heirs and a potential heir (I'm not revealing my generation six heir yet!!)
I couldn't find a hair I liked for Maddie, so she ended up with that one. Likewise Grace.

Lavender promptly started a fire in the kitchen.

Which was soon the centre of attention. I'd forgotten just how much Sims 1 sims like fire until I reinstalled the game.

Naturally, it spiralled out of control and I lost three heirs. Liam, Grace and Lavender all died in the fire.

Jim: Maybe this isn't a good place to pass out! There's fire!
Romeo: I hate the piano!!
So that's what I've been up to recently. I am most definitely going back to the Sims 2 now, though. I'd rather play an Adult-Start Apocalypse in the Sims 2 than an Asylum in the Sims 1!!
