Bluewater Village: Delarosa, Autumn
Sep. 23rd, 2012 02:16 pm
I am finally playing through the first rotation in Bluewater Village, and I thought I'd share my efforts. For those of you who don't know, my goal with this neighbourhood is to at least play until all of the premades in that 'hood have passed away.
Anyway, here is the first household in the rotation, Delarosa!!

Running a business single-handedly is hard work. Flo fills in all the duties for her little home business, but she wouldn't have it any other way. She gets to meet people, help them find what they need, and make money for her hobby at the same time. It's perfect.

Sure, it can be tiring. And quiet, during the slow moments, like when she first flips her closed sign to open, but at the end of the day, it's all worthwhile.

Worthwhile. But lonely. Not only was running a business tough on her own, but living alone seemed to be rather dull. Any company would be welcome, partner, roommate, anything. Anyone to break up the silence.

And the only way to do that was by leaving the house. Or that's what Flo assumed.
She wasn't sure what Bluewater had to offer in the way of a social life, she'd never ventured very far from her house if she was honest. Who knew what the night had in store for her.

Club Dante was where she ended up. And while it could hardly be called a club, Flo did enjoy playing pinball in the hallway. Which is how she met Chester Gieke.
Chester had always had a thing for a woman who could play video games well.

And, as a bonus, they got on great. There seemed to be some kind of natural chemistry between them. Chester liked that, Flo was easy to talk to - and that meant something. Women were like a unknown specie to Chester.

Flo didn't spend all night talking to Chester, though. She wanted to meet more than one person, and promptly introduced herself to anyone who crossed her path.
Like the owner of the club, Malcom Landgraab. Rumours were unkind to him, as were the town gossips, but he seemed like a reasonable gentleman to Flo.

But just because he seemed like a nice man did not mean he caught her attention, and soon she was back with Chester, making the most of her evening.

The next day, Malcom decided to pay Flo a visit.
"Is this Delarosa Flowers?" He asked a man exiting the building.
"Yeah, but she just closed. Good luck getting your flowers, mate."
"I'm not here for the flowers."

Florence and Malcom spent the evening talking, hanging out on the pavement outside her home. The evening was surprisingly warm for an autumn evening, which suited the pair of them just fine.
"You know, I've never met anyone like you, Flo," Malcom said, offhand, "I've never met anyone in this town who would talk to me willingly."

"Their loss, I suppose," Flo smiled, "I find I quite enjoy your company."
Malcom smiled, "We should do something. Let's go somewhere."

"You mean like a date?" Flo dared to ask. Malcom appeared to blush a little.
"You want to go on a date with me?" Malcom replied, a little stunned, "And there was me thinking a true gentleman asks the lady on a date, not the other way around."

"Pfft," Flo replied, "I suppose you're also the kind of man who would want me trapped in the home, taking care of the children and cooking you dinner."
"I wouldn't want you trapped anywhere, Flo," Malcom said, honestly, "You're a flower, you need sunlight and love."
"You're soppy when you think you've upset me," Flo laughed, "Come on, there's a new restaurant I want to try."

It soon turned out that Bluewater was far too small. Everyone knew everything sooner or later, or so it seemed.
Chester just happened to be out for a stroll on the same street that Flo was taking Malcom to.
"Flo, are you on a DATE with Malcom Landgraab? Have you no taste?!"

"Chester! He's a kind man, and he deserves a chance!" Flo snapped back. Chester frowned.
"Sure, fine, if you say so," Chester rolled his eyes, "You wait. Just as you fall in love with him, bam, he'll buy your business and leave you."
"You're such a pleasant man, Chester," Flo replied, dryly.

"I swear to Wright, Landgraab, if you mistreat her in any way, I will bring you down," Chester said, darkly, "I will stop at nothing to make sure Flo is happy."
"Nice to meet you, too, Mr Gieke." Malcom replied, with a calm tone.
Chester shrugged, and shoved his way past Malcom, walking down the street alone.

Neither of them spoke much until seated in the restaurant. Flo was feeling rather embarrassed, "I'm sorry, that wasn't a very good start to a date."
"Nonsense. Your company makes up for the interesting date." Malcom smiled.
"Thanks," Flo said, "But that doesn't excuse Chester-"
"Relax. He's gone, forget about it for tonight."

The date continued to get worse. After Chester's rather rude interruption, the restaurant messed up their order and only brought one plate over, which Malcom promptly shovelled into his mouth, making a mess as he did so.
Florence sighed.

"I'm sorry, this hasn't been very successful," She apologised, "I don't date much, you see..."
"Me either," Malcom admitted, "But I know something that will make it better."

"You know," Flo began, once their kiss ended, "I'd like to do this again sometime."
"I'm glad I'm not the only one," Malcom replied, and leaned in for another kiss, "You truly are a special lady, Florence."

In the early hours of the morning, the first ever flowers Flo had received showed up by her door, beautiful roses with an adorable message from Malcom.
Everything was perfect.

For the next couple of days, Flo and Malcom saw each other daily, spending as much time as they possibly could together. He stopped by her business when it was open, he'd stay behind after she'd closed...

...he'd stay all night if she wanted. There was nothing quite like sleeping next to her, nothing quite like her soft snores or the way she moved in her sleep.
Malcom always fell asleep happy.

And he always woke happy, too. She was always up before him, a morning person she called herself, but he insisted he had the energy to get up early and spend time with her before the shop opened.

Life was good and peaceful, fun and full of silliness.
Malcom hoped it would never end.

Everything was about to change, though. Their fun lifestyle came crashing down, and Flo could no longer fit into her clothes. It seemed that there was a baby on the way.
"Malcom, I need you to come over."

It turned out that Malcom was overjoyed by the news - an heir to the Landgraab fortune! Too bad Flo insisted the baby was taking her name. Someone had to run Delarosa Flowers when she was too old. There was plenty of time to discuss it, though.
Malcom left his mansion, mostly because Flo refused to move from her house, and moved in, ready to become a father.

The season ended with the couple excitedly waiting the arrival of their baby.
----------------------------------------------
A couple of things:
- None of this was staged. At all! Hence why am I loving playing this. I mean, I didn't intend for it to get a little plotty, I just wanted to play. If it gets too much, I will write this up as observational.
- Malcom moved in because I really could not be bothered to makeover his mansion
- As much as I loved Chester and Flo, I really wanted to play the Internet Lover mini-challenge with Chester, so that's why I turned him down.
- The new restaurant is on a beach lot I built. I just felt like the town needed a beach, in all honesty.
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this little snippet of autumn for Florence Delarosa! Hopefully I'll have the Gieke update up soon! :D
