It's also a loose interpretation of “wedding night”, as the drabble actually takes place a year after, talking of the wedding night. Also, the completion of this prompt means I've got Myshuno! Yay!

It's our first anniversary. One year since that wonderful day when we tied the knot, when you became my wife. I think about that day a lot – our small ceremony on the garden patio, Solan reading the vows for us to repeat.

Sure, we didn't have that many guests. But we had the people we loved. We had your grandchildren and my son, and they were delighted for us. Plus, it meant more cake to go around. I know you made that cake, Lavender – you've always been fantastic at baking.

Our wedding does not seem like it was a year ago, Lavender. It feels like it was only yesterday you were smiling, with a handful of yellow flowers Sierra had chosen from the garden...I wish we could go back to that time, Lavender. I wish we could live in that moment forever.

I miss you. I've sent Cyrus on numerous trips into the Afterlife, but he's never found you. I still don't know if you are in a better place. I like to think you're living in a peaceful little house, with a nice garden and a big kitchen.

I dream of being there with you, one day. It won't be any day soon, Lavender, but I long to see you again. I wonder if you still remember me, or if death changes that.

I'm sorry, I'm rambling.

Anyway, my love, happy anniversary! One year ago, we were married, one year ago, I lost you on the same night. I lost you on our wedding night. But it was still the best night of my life.
